The World Ends With You: Final Remix releases today in Japan! To celebrate this occasion, Tetsuya Nomura has shared a message with fans along with a special illustration featuring the cast of TWEWY with Sora, Chirithy, Meow Wow.
"Thank you so much, TGS. The World Ends With You appears in Traverse Town in Dream Drop Distance, which is a part of Kingdom Hearts 3’s prologue game collection Kingdom Hearts 2.8. TWEWY releases today September 27th on the Nintendo Switch, and KH’s staff were involved with its release. For those who want to get a deeper enjoyment from 2.8, please try this game out."

The TWEWY characters ended up in the Realm of Sleep, which either is the Realm of Sleep or is connected to itnsomehow. So there could be some explanation as to what happened to them before Joshua took them to Traverse Town as well as more exploration into the Dream Eaters, which are becoming more relevant in Union Cross.

Nomura said that there will be a big update to Union Cross next month and that we’d be going to the new world soon. So I’m hoping we’ll learn what the new world is in that update.

Yeah I’m admittedly passionate to a fault. Lol. Neku would also fit with the idea of his summons being friends he has met in his journey, whereas if Ralph is from Union Cross, they have to explain how Sora meets him outside of his world or make him an exception to the theme.
We’ve also had non-Disney summons before in the form of Cloud in Chain of Memories. So not entirely unprecedented. Lol

No I think it's a great idea! The only thing that makes me doubt that it will happen is that I'm pretty sure Nomura was implying that the world that will be in Union Cross and not KH3 is a Disney world. I don't think he outright stated as such, though, so I guess if we want to read between the lines we could interpret it that way, but that's a biiiiiiiig stretch in my opinion.
I'd be totally down for it though. TWEWY would be awesome for KHUX since the game designer from TWEWY helped Nomura with KHUX, if I remember correctly. The collab would be a perfect match since they function very similarly in terms of mechanics.
Zip, I love your idea so much (for all the reasons that you, and even some others, said). And if I recall correctly, didn't the main game designer for TWEWY make KHUX, or something like that (or at least browser Chi)? If that's true, then it really IS a match made in heaven.
Anyway, I'm still pulling for TWEWY being in KHIII somehow (even if I'm just setting myself up for disappointment); I haven't forgotten the random headphones in that Sora art that Nomura did, I mean.

Dang, Chaser, you and your receipts from 2016. It’s wild that they’ve been sitting on this thing that long. Knowing Square, I wouldn’t be surprised if they changed their plans from whatever it was meant to be then to what it is now since that world was supposed to appear starting from season two, which clearly didn’t happen.
I still think TWEWY is likely to show up in KH3, so don’t lose hope fans!

I wish Nintendo wasn’t releasing the game in the West instead of Square Enix. Then we could have had a chance for it but after the Ace Attorney ports I’ve learnt that anything is possible (except for international subtitles because Nintendo paid for that work instead of Capcom).

Thought so. Well, it was fun to dream for like 2 hours, lmao. This definitely makes me think it's Ralph then, because the new UX world is apparently coming next month, right? And unless we get a new trailer with a new summon in it soon, that pretty much seals the deal.

In works like these, Nomuras use of color and line work always leaves me in awe. Also, when I noticed that Sora in in a more TWEWY art style, it made everything so much better.
Still hope one day Shibuya show up in kh. I was hoping for it to be a mini-world in Sanfransokyo but it doesn't seem to be happening.
