Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Sora Amiibo Releasing in 2024

It was announced during the September 2023 Nintendo Direct that the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Sora Amiibo will be releasing worldwide in 2024. This is the final Amiibo set to release for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
Sora was revealed as the final Super Smash Bros. Ultimate fighter back in 2021. Sora was the most requested character in the Fighter Ballot. Fighter Pass 2 originally planned to have five characters likewise to Fighter Pass 1 but it had increased to six due to Sora's inclusion.

Looks like Banjo will no longer hold the distinction of being the last amiibo I bother buying. Of course unlike Banjo, I'll probably be taking Sora out of his packaging.
If only he had literally any function outside of SSBU. Like I should get a damn keyblade if I scan him in TotK! Could you imagine fusing it and the Master Sword together?

I hate when they don't make the Amiibos do something unique. Like, they spent the time MAKING them, let me tap Sora into Animal Crossing and get his outfit in the store ;~;
If we actually get a Switch 2 next year, I hope the release of this coincides with native ports for that console. If rumors are true, it should have no problem running the series so far. (Even better if it somehow coincides with KH4 obviously, but not trying to clown too much today. Lol)
Still interesting to me that the only acknowledgement this gets from the KH socials is a retweet. Makes me wonder if they have some sort of marketing restrictions due to merchandising rights?

A Nintendo console powerful enough to play PS2/PS/3DS games. What a novel concept.
Shoot, some of the stuff coming out about Switch 2 make it sounds a KH4 port could be viable. If Matrix demo was apparently running on PS5-level visuals including ray tracing, how much more demanding can KH4 be?

They probably can't directly promote it since it isn't their product technically. It's like...the same reason why SE doesn't promote the release of translated books by other companies like Yen Press or Dark Horse. It isn't their product even if it technically is. The licenser has the rights for that particular thing.

They model the statues based on the default render of each character. For characters striking a more action-y pose, they add really unsightly grey-clear plastic that makes the amiibo look like shit so I'm glad its just Sora hittin' the KH1 manual pose

The only action pose Amiibos that look good are the Splatoon ones and the P5 Joker one.
My second Amiibo, after Sephiroth. Put my order in the other day, now to just wait for whatever the release day is
