First Appearance: KINGDOM HEARTS (2002)
Origin: Aladdin (1992)
Upon entry to this sandy world, Sora and friends jump to the aid of their Heartless-cornered friend, Aladdin, but are soon overpowered. With the aid of his magical lamp, Aladdin calls forth his friend Genie to get rid of the monsters, the first of his three wishes. It turns out that Aladdin is on his way to the Palace where crafty vizier Jafar awaits, having tricked the boy into thinking he will help him meet the object of his affections - the beautiful princess Jasmine - when really he has used Aladdin only to obtain the lamp. Sora and friends accompany Aladdin to the Palace to aid with the defeat of Heartless, but along the way they encounter Princess Jasmine who is being attacked by ravenous Heartless!
With fears that he cannot save her in time, Aladdin orders Genie to vanquish the Heartless, leaving him with only one wish left. Jasmine is unconscious but alas she is safe - until another round of Heartless show up and Sora and the gang only have one choice: to defeat them by themselves so as not to use up Aladdin's final wish. Upon defeating the Heartless, Sora and co. are enveloped by a white light - but it isn't good; greedy Jafar has used a spell to steal the lamp from Aladdin so he can become Genie's master and use his powers to marry Jasmine and become the Sultan once and for all - which has been Jafar's plan right from the start. Now that Jafar has his mitts on the lamp, Genie is under his command and the vizier does indeed go through with his plan - or, at least, he has Genie deliver Jasmine to him, before he and his parrot sidekick Iago venture off to cause more mischief, with an unwilling Genie in tow. Now there's only one thing for it: Aladdin must save Jasmine!
After a moment of dismay, Aladdin kicks back into action and devises a cunning plan to rescue Jasmine; namely, tricking Jafar into using his second wish, which is exactly what Jafar does after Sora, Goofy and Donald approach him and the unconscious Jasmine, allowing Aladdin to pounce on Jafar, who has no choice but to order Genie to seize him. Tricked into having only one wish left, enraged Jafar orders Genie to turn him into an omnipotent genie himself, in which form Jafar claims he will crush the 'street rats' and claim Jasmine's heart at the same time. With no choice but to obey his master's wishes, Genie grants the vizier's last wish and he does indeed become an all-powerful entity. Now there's only one thing left to do for Sora and friends: they must take Jafar down!
Thrown into fiery pits of doom with Jafar and the equally greedy Iago, Sora endures an arduous battle but overcomes the two fiends and retrieves the lamp and Jafar - a double victory for all. Now that Aladdin is once again Genie's master, his one last wish still remains, and Genie is about to grant Aladdin royalty status, but Aladdin is so touched by Genie's selflessness and his aid that he makes his last wish in favor of the blue genie - and sets him free. Now, nobody can use Genie's powers for evil. Though Aladdin has no way of wishing for Jasmine's affection, he makes a resolution, and that is to have Jasmine fall in love with him of her own volition, so she may love him for who he is.
To aid Sora on his journeys, Aladdin suggests that Genie give the Keyblade wielder a card that will allow him to call forth the magical creature whenever and wherever he wants, and of course Genie complies; he is grateful for Sora's help because without it, he might never have been set free. Now that all is done and finished, Sora and co. leave Agrabah with a new set of experiences, memories and friends.
In Reverse/Rebirth Riku enters Agrabah in true fighting style and slashes through the hundreds of Heartless raring for battle. Even in this hot sun-stricken world, Riku breaks no sweat as he stomps through to the hot fiery pit of lava in which Sora fought the towering genie form of Jafar. Riku is through with him and his little lamp-carrying sidekick Iago before either of them knows what has hit them. With these two villains stewing in lava soup, Riku leaves the sandy world of Agrabah.
