It kinda is. Our best bet is usually a movie franchise with a definite ending. But we all know how dangerous those can be.

In this case, it sadly is. I don't think I'm the only one that wants to give Deadpool (and several others) a satisfying happy ending. There are always alternate universes, but they tend to screw those over in the long run by going back to the setting.

Besides, he clearly has a disorder. We don't know exactly which one (or how many), but it's pretty hard to deny since it's been stated by multiple people (including telepaths). I'm always more impressed by people who try to do good despite their inherent evil (in as far as he can be called evil) than people who are naturally good.

What I found awful about finalhazard was them damn lasers if fires. Who wouldn't count that fight~ I still wish there was a super sonic version for Perfect Chaos in Generations.

It's one of those soft spots of his that makes us care just a bit more for him.

It's true that that's how he made his debut, but that doesn't say much. Wolverine debuted in the Hulk. Both Mystique and Rogue were originally more Ms Marvel villains. And Sabretooth's first comic fight was against Iron Fist. Wolverine vs Hulk is mostly remembered, the others not so much. Deadpool started with fighting against X-Force, but he didn't have much of a connection with Cable aside from "they met a couple of times"
Deadpool can be incredibly rewarding at the right times. That's what I missed during Way's run. After spending years trying to become a hero (more or less) Way just decided "nope, deep down he's nothing but an asshole". It's kinda what I dislike about the american comic book system.
Off course not, there IS more to him. I'm also happy they finally decided to go through with their movie plans. I just hope he doesn't get butchered. (in the figurative sense of course. Deadpool wouldn't be Deadpool if he didn't have to undergo the occassional butchering)
