Even since KH1, we've seen Ansem SoD use a guardian heartless to fight. It had always been bugging me what it was, but heartless being everywhere in that game he could have just been controlling a powerful one.
Then in BBS in the Final Episode we see Terranort using that same guardian heartless to fight. While they still existed, heartless were extremely uncommon so he couldn't have just obtained an extremely powerful one just for that fight, let alone command it because of his lack of a memory. Where did it come from?
This may sound pretty dumb, but I'm guessing that the heartless is Terra's heart. A heartless is basically a disembodied heart, and because Terranort had an extra one lying around he could potentially use it to create a heartless when needed. Terra's heart also had plenty of darkness, so it would have created a pretty powerful heartless. Another small observation is that when you look at that guardian heartless it has bandages all over its body, which could represent how Terra's heart had been captured.
Now, you might be wondering where that heart is now, Ansem SoD and Xemnas have been defeated. Well, the answer is Riku. When he first transformed into Ansem SoD against Roxas he can be seen using that same guardian heartless. Besides, in an interview I read (if anybody can find it that would be great) Nomura was saying that some remnants of Xehanort could still be with Riku. If those remnants are Terra's heart, then that could explain how he was able to use the guardian heartless.
