If you format the card with a PAL PS2, then you should be able to play and save japanese games. But you need a PAL PS2 to play the game if you live somwhere other than Japan. I think this is correct, don't quote me.

no what im sayin is that i have a game shark and can switch my ps2s region code to region 2. i need to know before i order kingdom hearts final mix is will it save to my memory card or do i need to order a japanese memory card

If you formatted your memory card with a PAL PS2, then definately. If you formatted it with a US one, then I don't know. I, personally, would order a Japanese memory card, just to be on the safe side.
