Sanctuary wasn't bad at all, but Passion was better. Passion has more background "stuff" which seems to be removed in Sanctuary. Not to mention, her voice naturally flows with her words in the Japanese version.

No, I mean, it's weird if you think about it? Wasn't the song MADE for kingdom hearts? if ot i'm thinking of the wrong thing XD.

Pretty sure the songs were written for Kingdom Hearts specifically. Nomura described in an interview once how he described to Utada the 'image' he wanted to be conveyed in the song (for KH2 iirc), so.
