Hate to tell you, but you are wrong. Marluxia's trying to turn Sora into his puppet by having Namnie erase his memory so that Sora would do anything to protect her. Marluxia has no personal need for the Keyblade, except for Sora to use it to take over the Organization for him.

Basically, Marluxia wanted to erase Sora's memories so Sora can be his slave forever. It was kind of like Zod with Superman.

Marluxia: Come to me, keyblade master! Kneel before Marluxia!

I know, that didn't sound right. But I think you get the picture on what Marluxia's plan was.
