In the spirit of NaNoWriMo, I've been trying to write... and I'm kind of annoyed with myself, because I feel like I'm jumping ahead on a chapter instead of following up on what happened in chapter 2. Therefore, it's kind of a sudden change up, but is it a good one? And it still feels a bit vague to me and I'm kind of worried this scene needs more fleshing out. I could really use some opinions please! Keep in mind this is still a rough draft and I've edited a few times already. xD

Chapter ?
How did your mission go?
"So glad you asked!" Kaz exclaimed, with as much enthusiasm as possible. "The Resistance wasn't prepared for us at all and left their explosives right out in the snow like a bunch of idiots for me to set off and kill them all in one go. It was like they were asking for me to kill them! Can you believe it? God, what a rush that was."
As Kaz waited for a reply from the screen monitor across from him, he started tugging off his gear and throwing them aside on a bench next to a bunch of lockers. His gear was splattered in freshly made blood stains, which he'd have to see to later to be cleaned off. Not that it made a difference. No matter how much time he put in to scrub them clean, they'd just be splattered again later on by whoever he took out next. "Blood can be so dang messy at times, and yet, it's strangely poetic."
"And the girl?"
The grin etched on Kaz's face dropped in an instant and turned into a scowl. "Dead. Dead like the rest of them, and should have been from the start of all of this. Personally, I would've like to have been the one to shoot her, except she proved to be a much needed lesson on this mission. Too bad it had to be that way, because I would've liked to seen the look on her face as I pulled the trigger, after everything I had to do to take back what was stolen from me."
The bitterness in his voice didn't go amiss, because the screen monitor lit up again, "And how did he do?"
"He's impatient, hardheaded like he's always been, " Kaz lied, "It's almost like he never even left." It still pissed him off how much remorse he detected in Zero's voice. Especially when he took his time ending that pathetic girl's life. His insubordinate ways are becoming a bit of a problem, and I won't be able to hide it forever. I'll need to break him further to keep him in line. What was worse was knowing Zero still had lingering feelings for everyone he came into contact with in the Resistance group.
"Is he still trustworthy?"
"Their little reunion proved to be a bit of a challenge for him," Kaz added further, dodging the question. "Sentimental feelings for the enemy may of been too much for him, but with my guidance, I seen to it that it wasn't a problem. And shouldn't happen again until the next time he encounters another one of his so called friends."
Again, the screen monitor came to life with the following words, "Good. See to it he stays that way and doesn't step out of line. Remember Kaz, I pay the both of you to get the job done. Anything less, and you won't see your next paycheck and I'll hire someone else to get those codes for me."
"Yes, Sir." Kaz replied mockingly, unable to enjoy this conversation any longer. Once he no longer had an audience with his Employer, Kaz hastily made his way to the shower room, but not before punching a locker nearby with all of his might; searing pain rushing to his knuckles, ripping up his skin from the jagged vents of the locker, and replacing the anger he felt as he withdrew his hand away from the now dented locker and headed into the shower to clean up the blood and sweat off of his skin.
