From what I gather,
Princesses of Heart is just a title given to those 7 girls/women (w/e you'd like to call them) who have the purest hearts.
It doesn't mean that they are of Royalty although some of them may be (Snow White, Jasmine, etc.)

Yeah, only Maleficent and Ansem gave the PoH's those names.
