SE trying to raise money for charity

Square Enix Europe is raising money for a video game industry based charity called GamesAid. SEE is trying to raise £25,000 to coincide with the 25th anniversary of final fantasy. An interesting little tidbit is that they have an event tomorrow (August 23) at Wimbledon Park.

2. Square Enix Circuit

The flagship challenge, which will take place on Thursday 23 August in Wimbledon Park. This event will encourage people to take part in a 5km run/walk/you name it circuit. It is up to you to decide how many circuits you want to complete within 2 hours.
With 100+ people doing a minimum of 5km, that equates to at least half a million metres in the name of charity!

This will also be a family event, with stalls and food etc. So we encourage you to bring along friends, family, children, dogs if you please.

Overall, SE raising money for charity seems pretty interesting. I was wondering what everybody else thought of the concept of the video game industry doing things like charities.
