Heartbreak
Spoiler ShowOnce upon a time,
There was this guy,
Who loved this girl,
But was very shy.
He wrote a letter,
A stupid idea,
A way to tell her,
That no-one could hear.
She didn't say no,
But she didn't say yes,
But that still didn't change,
This emotional mess.
He waited two years,
More than enough,
But what happened next,
Was really too tough.
In those couple of years,
She met a boy,
She had asked him out,
And said yes, to her joy.
So our hero missed out,
On the girl of his dreams,
Loveless, heart broken,
As it all seems.
She now ignores him,
Her boyfriend is smitten,
Our hero's depressive,
Now his story is written.
I hope you enjoyed,
This little number,
It awakened my inner-poet,
From it's little slumber.
If you wanted to know,
She got a happy ending,
As for me,
My heart still needs mending.
Too Late
Spoiler ShowYou walk down the sidestreet,
As quiet as outer space,
You check your watch,
And pick up speed.
The sidestreet opens out,
You are blinded by the lights of the theatre,
You shake your head,
Then carry on walking.
The clouds are painting the sky,
You know what's coming,
You turn the corner,
No time for just standing.
The road is empty,
Like a ghost town,
It doesn't phase you,
You've got somewhere to be.
The rain is pouring down now,
The road looks like one giant river,
You might be soaking,
But that doesn't matter right now.
You finally make it,
But she's already gone,
You're too late my friend,
You're too late.
The Rain
Spoiler ShowIt's raining and you're all alone,
You walk down the pavement,
You put your hand in your pockets,
Gotta keep walking.
You're sure you just heard a noise,
You quickly turn your head to look behind you,
Nothing, maybe you just imagined it, you turn around,
Nope, you didn't.
There she is,
Standing in front of you,
You feel suprised,
Yet somehow comfortable.
The rain slides down her face and off her nose,
You watch as drops slowly drip off and fall to the floor,
Instantly disappearing along with the millions of other raindrops,
But the concentration isn't on the rain, but on her.
She opens her eyes,
It's like a sudden brightness,
Those eyes are like two solitary stars,
Completely different to everything around them.
You've waited for this for a long time,
Played it through in your head a million times,
It's time,
Time to finally do it.
You step forward, but she's not there,
You blink your eyes and shake your head,
She's gone, she's never going to be there,
It's raining and you're all alone.
Not Alone
Spoiler ShowFar away in a distant land,
Free from oceans, forests and sand,
A place full of bricks, concrete and glass,
Surrounded by tarmac, no flowers, no grass.
A concrete jungle towering buildings and all,
Full of libraries, museums and even a mall,
A massive sewer full of rubbish and rats,
And meters above it giant masses of flats.
In one such flat sat a girl at the window,
Once again she was alone, her friends were a no-show,
She gazed out the window and looked at the sky,
She blinked, looked down and let out a sigh.
Her name was Emily, an interesting child,
Inside her head, her imagination ran wild,
From a young age she was buried in books,
If you passed her by you would've gave her weird looks.
Her jet black hair, ponytail and glasses,
Back in school she was in the top of her classes,
She did have friends I think you will find,
(And not just the ones that lived in her mind).
'Where are they?' she asked and looked at the ground,
But still her friends were nowhere to be found,
She wiped under her eye and got rid of a tear,
And let out a sound that no-one could hear.
She leant out the window and wind brushed her cheek,
All in all she has had a very bad week,
She leant out some more and not in like she should,
And she started to tumble, 'Oh no, that's not good!'
She screamed and wailed as she began to drop,
And closed her eyes for that big sudden stop,
It eventually happened and she hit the ground,
Surprisingly though she was all safe and sound.
'I'm okay!' she exclaimed, looking around with surprise,
Dusting her dress off as she did rise,
'Where am I?' questioned the curious teen,
For no buildings or concrete were there to be seen.
In their place stood lots of flowers and trees,
And the humming and singing of the birds and the bees,
Out of a bush came an interesting creature,
Rushing out to Emily, rushing out to meet her.
'Hello there young lady!' The creature had said,
'Wait a minute,' said Emily, 'You're from out of my head!'
The creature gave her an interesting look,
Well at least, thought Emily, From one of my books.
'You're Bobble, a fairy! The last of your kind!'
'Not the last, one of many, I think you will find!'
He was short but made up for it with his giant heart,
Until someone was helped, he dared to not part.
'Do you need help?' he said with a smile,
Her answer only took a short while,
'Where am I?' she asked walking next to the fairy,
He was odd for sure, but definitely not scary.
'You're in the forest of Goldenwater, a beautiful place,'
'You're stumbling behind, come on, pick up the pace!'
She caught up with Bobble and heard a loud shout,
From behind some big trees a troll did jump out.
'ROAR! Who disturbs me from out of my slumber?'
'Making me fall out of my bed made of lumber?'
Obviously this creature doesn't smile or say hi,
Thought Emily as the troll stared her right in the eye.
'Gomba,' said Emily 'That evil, smelly troll.'
He roared and he grunted but only her eyes did roll,
'You don't scare me.' said Emily out loud,
Beside her stood Bobble, oh boy was he proud!
The troll looked surprised and even defeated,
His ego, his power was surely depleted,
'Gomba is the greatest.' he started to say,
But his eyes welled up and he ran away.
'That was amazing!' said Bobble, 'Your new claim to fame!'
'Tell me brave maiden, what is your name?'
'My name is Emily, and I live in a flat...'
'I sure miss my parents, my friends and my cat.'
Emily turned around and started to cry,
Avoiding the gaze of Bobble's sad eye,
'If you want to go home, as you have wished,'
'I'll help you young lady, but you will be missed.'
'Oh thank you kind Bobble!' Emily did respond,
To the little kind fairy of whom she'd grown fond,
He smiled, bowed and did a quick twirl,
'So long! Farewell!' he said to the girl.
Emily opened her eyes and she was back home,
Except for this time, she was not alone,
She was surrounded by all of her friends,
Not long now, I promise, it's almost the end...
'There you are Emily!' said her friend called Chris,
'It's your birthday, get up! Time to make a good wish!'
She was lying on the floor, on tarmac no less,
She sat up and realised she looked like a mess.
'We came to find you, we knocked on your door,'
'We went round the building and you were on the floor.'
From her flat her mother gave a loud shout:
'Come in Emily, It's starting to get cold out!'
Chris and the rest ran into her home,
Leaving Emily once again all alone,
She pushed her glasses back up her nose,
And slowly and carefully, Emily rose.
She looked back down and saw a fresh daisy,
She picked it up, her memory still hazy,
She rolled it around in her delicate hands,
Did I really travel to faraway lands?
She sighed, turned around and went in her flat,
Put the daisy on the table and petted her cat,
She went in the kitchen, joining her friends,
Making her wish, now here is where our story ends.
Chasing Becky
Spoiler ShowYour heart skips a beat but you don’t know why,
You think to yourself, you know that’s a lie,
You know perfectly well why you feel this way,
You know what makes you feel this everyday,
It’s a girl you have there in your heart,
It’s been over a year since the feelings did start,
The best looking girl that you’ve ever seen,
Sadly it seems that this girl’s not so keen,
It’s a shame; you wish it could all work out,
Every night in a rage you shout and you shout,
You hope one day she’ll like you too,
But right now at your name she’d only ask “Who?”
You still haven’t talked to her; you’re just too shy,
She’s leaving tomorrow, you haven’t said bye,
“I must crazy.” That’s what you must think,
“What if she hates me? My heart will just sink.”
Just go for it, my friend, you’ll never know,
It’s not the end of this, on with the show!
Pluck up the courage, pluck up the strength,
Go up, smile, and talk at great length,
There she is! Go for it my lonely friend!
Get it off of your chest, it’ll all end!
Yes, keep going, time’s going slow,
Take a breath, relax, and then say-
“Hello”
Love’s a Ride
Spoiler ShowBeauty personified,
I’m not in love,
Okay, I lied,
I totally am,
My heart’s been tied,
I want to talk to her,
My time I bide,
When I see her face,
I smile wide,
But when I see her around,
I run and hide,
She might dig me,
Time to turn the tide,
I talk to her, she rejects me,
I die inside,
Find out it’s not gonna happen,
At least I tried.
Interrogation
Spoiler ShowHow can someone so human be so pretty?
Is she a match for someone who’s witty?
How can she have such amazing hair?
A flick of which can make me stop and stare?
How can she have such a wonderful smile?
So much it could wow from even a mile?
How can she have such a beautiful face?
Attractive and stands out in any place?
Where was it where she learnt how to dress?
How come she’s always dressed to impress?
Why is it that I can’t stop watching her walk?
How come each time I see her I never talk?
Am I in love, or am I just crazy?
Maybe I can’t talk because I’m just lazy?
Is there a reason why I’m feeling this way?
Why I torture myself, day after day?
Will talking get rid of this feeling?
If it goes wrong will my heart need healing?
Okay I must get this over with, right?
Why is my stomach feeling so tight?
There she is should I go for it?
Will she find be cool, or just a git?
I guess I won’t know until I talk will I?
Could you wish me luck as I go say ‘Hi’?
Green Eyes
Spoiler ShowI remember when I first met you,
You made my stomach feel butterlies,
So pretty, so funny,
With those amazing green eyes.
From the moment I met you,
To when we said our goodbyes,
I'll always remember,
Those stunning green eyes.
When I thought things were great,
You caught me by surprise,
I could understand what was wrong,
Looking at those regretful green eyes.
I'm not one to suffer,
I'm not one who cries,
But I can't escape the fact,
I won't see those beautiful green eyes.
It can't be helped,
Can't make your world full of lies,
You can go on without me,
Stop the tears from those green eyes.
It was good while it lasted,
We had our lows and our highs,
Now we have to say our farewells,
Goodbye my lover, goodbye green eyes...
