The Order (Not a kh rp)
In the late 1300's just as the bubonic plague began to wane a band of three men dedicated to dispelling the power which a so called god had over the lives of mortal man. The plague had forced them to believe that god did not exist. How could a god who is supposed to be gracious and loving send a fate worse than death onto his children? Thus they reached the conclusion that it had been a natural occurrence that had been caused by the extreme dirtiness of Europe at the time. These three men then cast off there names and took up new ones and formed The Order and through sciences that no man at that time or this time could comprehend made themselves almost entirely immortal giving them not only longevity and eternal youth but the abilities of a god.
Over the centuries the order grew to massive numbers numbering nearly ten thousand. But in the early 1700's conflict arose in the group. Many in the group wanted to return to religion, to return to there old god. They became known as The Order of Apotheosis and there numbers outnumbered those loyal to the old ways of the order now known as The Order of Animus by almost nine thousand nine hundred members. This massive uprising led to the deaths of all but a few members of Animus who had escaped the battle alive.
Now in the present day they have began to wage war on The Order of Apotheosis. They are the most dangerous of enemies because they fight with ancient hymns of battle on there tongues and vicious blades in there hands. The Order of Apotheosis is not unprepared they have been awaiting this moment for the last three hundred years
Terminology:
Harold- A messenger or bringer (The Animus members had given themselves title’s based on there powers.)
Order of Animus- The order that now stands broken after they were defeated trying to preserve the old ways)
Order of Apotheosis- The new order of separatists who have gained control of all of the members of the original order.
Animus- A spirit of active hostility.
Apotheosis- To reach divine status
Heretic- A person who has gone against he orthodox ways of a belief. (Used as a derogatory term for the Order of Animus members)
Hymn of Remembrance- A song that glorifies those who died in the final battle of Dom brond
The Battle of Dom Brond- The last battle where the Order was split into two factions and The Order of Animus were utterly destroyed save a small group of members.
Dom Brond- Roughly translates into Judgmental Fire
