What you would have to take into consideration with uniforms is that, it costs alot of extra money. Not only do you have to order clothes for your school, but in your teens, you would grow out of them quickly and it would be a hassle to have to order more. Uniforms are just more money that the childs parents have to shell out, in addition to casual clothes that the kids wear during the summer, weekends, and breaks.
I'm personally for the dress-code (my highschool went through a huge debate on this issue). It allows a person to express themselves, since the first impression people get about us is from how we look. I remember my school had a very simple dress code (and I'm quoting my 12th grade English teacher on this):
For girls:
1) No boobs, backs, or butts.
2) Skirts no more than 5 inches above the knee/ shorts no more than 7 inches above the knee (both measured from a kneeling position).
For boys:
1) No sagging
For both:
1) No hats
2) No obsene or suggestive logos (of course, this is also the school that tried to ban Fudpuckers shirts...)
