Update the game? / Re-install?

Hello.
I've been playing Kingdom Hearts Unchained χ for some time. I've downloaded the installation file from an APK download site.
Now there is a new update and it won't let me play until I get it. Of course, I can't update it via the PlayStore because of region restrictions.
Could I simply uninstall the game, then download and install the new version from the site without my game progress being deleted? Or is there any way to update the game?

Once you uninstall the game your data goes with it. Go back to the site you downloaded the game and just re-download it.

Just don't uninstall anything.

hello. i just updated kingdom hearts unchained X on the galaxy tablet 10.1 that my little brother use to play. But when i update it,all his data are lost. I didn't back up his data but when i update my kingdom hearts unchained X on my phone,my data is still there.
is there a way for me to restore his data? I need ASAP

No. Deleting the app will delete all of your data, unless you've backed it up with the google/mixi/facebook/twitter options in the game.
To update the app, just redownload and re-install the game--don't uninstall it!

i didn't uninstall it,i just update the app as usual but the data of his character is gone.
