What was the organisation doing for 9 years??

Seemingly, the organizations major plans came and went during the time of kh1-kh2. So what were they doing for the 9 years between their collective births' and deaths'?
Perhaps this will be a plot of an upcoming game?

It could explain the creation of the heartless, the secret plans of Saix/Axel.

Any thoughts??

They were probably waiting for the keyblade wielder to be revealed, seeing as how they needed him for their plan for Kingdom Hearts.

And where does it say that they did that all in the space of one year...

It seems likely, given the over-running of Radiant Garden by Heartless, that Axel and Saix would have been spawned soon after the original six members.

Well it will be reasonable since Axel and Saix join the org together and Axel is 25/24 (from what i heard)
and in the bbs trailer lea and isa look like ven's age and bbs takes place ten years before KH

All of those experiments happened in the 1 year that xehanort was ansems
apprentice. After that, the heartless devoured the world and it was left as hollow bastion. But I suppose they had to research what they had become, and how they could return to their previous lives.

In KH1, there was a man in a black cloak in the cave with chalk drawings. So it would seem that they were probably around before Sora journeys to Castle Oblivion.

That was Xehanort's Heartless if i'm not mistaken
