You don't know? Novels are purely written works with very few(if any) pictures in them. "It" from Stephen King is a novel, "Something Wicked this Way Comes" by Ray Bradbury is another. They don't have any pictures at all.
Graphic novels are told with pictures. The Dark Knight Returns by Frank Miller is a graphic novel. Most manga are graphic novels. See the difference?
