Why does Castle Oblivion look so small?

In the beginning when Sora walks up to Castle Oblivion it certainly looks small for a building that is supposed to be 13 floors high. I'm just wondering why. I know it isn't important, but Sora goes up thirteen floors. He also runs up a spiral staircase, which looks to me that the Castle should be much taller than the way it looks. From the outside the castle looks like it is only two or three floors. Anyway what do you guys think?

Maybe there's a magic spell on it that makes it out-of-shape....I dunno.

Well it's not that big. Cause the rooms transform. Like it was said the rooms take form of the person's memory. So it could be a very small room but just take form. So it could be as big as an apt room. Just when a person remembers where they been like DI it takes it's form. Also the spiral is just a symbol of the journey he took fightning his way to the top. So it doen't look like that.

Well, when you first see the Castle it has towers that are sideways, upside down, etc. This may mean that when Sora's running around crazily looking for Riku & Namine he goes into some of these towers.

Not that it's probably right, just a theory is all!

That makes sense, though. Good observation!

I think that the castle was all an illusion of Sora's mind, personally. Not to say that it's not there, but the size of it. If you notice, every floor after you get out of the worlds (where some boss fights occur, such as Marluxia and such) look exactly the same. Perhaps Sora has been being led back and forth until he gets past 13 "floors"? Just a thought. Probably totally wrong.

1st: It's a Magic castle. It's no Hogwarts, but It's Magic.

2nd: We don't know if that is what the Original Castle Oblivion really looked like. All they said in the games was that the Organization "found" it. There was no indication of what shape it was in when they did, so it's just as likely that they BS'd their way through the reconstruction.

3rd: The camera angle starts from behind Sora, who was probably a couple miles away.

4th: Don't forget that it has plenty of basement levels as well. That is the part that Riku travels through in his story. with them, it brings the total to about 26 levels.

Well the castle is magic in a way. It just takes the form of the people's memories. It tells it all in Ansem's report #8

Mabye it's messing with your memories, so that you think you're climbing up loads of floors when you're actually just going through the same floor again and again, but you've just forgotten?

That does make a lot of sense. I know it's just a theory but I like this one. I can see what everyone means though by saying that the castle is magic. I also agree with the fact that the castle likes to mess with your mind. But Namine was the one that rearranged Sora, Donald, and Goofy's memories. Not the castle. But I wouldn't be surprised if that castle had some magic properties of it's own...

Also i would like to say the stairway was a symbol. It was to mean that Riku and Sora past each other. Cause the might have been on the same floor at a time but cause of their memories saw something else. So while Sora was at Destiny island Riku, on the same floor maybe might have seen The little Mermaid. I just put a stage so don't yell. But the could have pst many times just doesn't know it.
