Yes, the heartless attacked it, but when they were destroying worlds, they were making them disappear, not turning them into wastelands, for instance in BBS, Radient Garden had an ocean and water that ran normally, but in KH1, the water either ran the opposite direction,(reverse waterfalls) or you could walk on it, and in KH2, it's almost like the water dried out, so what could have happened to cause that? what are your thoughts?

I guess Maleficent's magic twisted Radiant Garden's remains into something more suited for herself.

Her style is desolation.

When she died the magic didn't fade completely as the name Radiant Garden was buried away till Sora finds the name in Space Paranoids.

That would make sense, it's nine years later she was defeated, and magic that's around for that long, is probably going to take some time to completely fade, and you can see that Radiant Garden has returned to it's former glory in KH3. (no idea on the water though because of the location but still...)

They built a dam and levy when they reconstructed the town. The rising falls are still there (we see them in the garden of assemblage) they're just being used to facilitate power for the town and the water is being pumped away from it and the castle.

I'm not just talking about the town, but also the outskirts.
