The phrase was repeated AFTER Kingdom Hearts was opened because only the Door to Darkness was opened in KH1. The Door to Light did not make an appearance until KH2.

OK...guys I'm getting confused on what your saying so it the door at the end of kh2?
That wasn't the DTL that was just a corridor of light.

That's what I had thought. I figured new methods of travel always popup in each KH game, and this would be KHIII's answer. Corridors of Light instead of darkness (for Sora and co.)
Crimson Jazz got it right. Sora stated it was the Door to Light. And it was pretty helpful, you know. It's the only reason that Riku and Sora were able to get back to the Realm of Light. So... yeah, it was pretty important even if that's all it did. I really doubt that that's all it did though. There's a chance that there will be consequences, be they good or bad, from opening the Door to Light that will be shown a future Kingdom Hearts game. Maybe the realms of dark and light will be connected?
Sorry if somebody said this already, im wayyy to lazy to read all of the responses today LOL. But the door tht had to b opened was the door to the light. That door to the light was Sora's heart, and the door was opened after KH2.
No, that was the actual Door to Light. Did you even hear Sora?
