As part of our on-going coverage of Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory, I have spent a handful of hours playing through Square Enix and Disney's latest adventure in the Kingdom Hearts series.
During Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory's pre-release coverage it was known that you could play and compete with others online. Unfortunately you can't choose who you go up against.
By inputting what difficult you want to play on and whether or not you want to utilise tricks, the game will seek out an opponent with the same requirements for you to go up against. There doesn't seem to be an option, at least on PlayStation 4, for you to choose a person on your friends list to play against.
The same can be said for the co-op mode. Like the demo, it is only couch co-op and you can't invite a friend to join you in it unless you utilise the shareplay feature on PlayStation 4 and have join as a second controller.
It is currently unknown if Square Enix will patch the game to allow you to play with your friends but for now all you can do is match and swap your ProfiCard with strangers.
