Listed below are the changes that took place from the previous version of the game (KINGDOM HEARTS Unchained χ).
・The opening cutscene has been updated.
・The title screen has been updated.
・The BGM for the title, home, and UI screens have been updated.
・Theater Mode has been added.
・Medal Traits have been added.
・New facial expressions and skin colors have been added.
・Tutorial Quests have been added.
・Defense debuffs (including attribute-based defense) can now be stacked up to 7 times (previously 3).
・You will now be able to reduce the cost of Medals up to 20 (previously 10) using ★6 Cid Medals.
・You will now be able to recruit players that belong to a party.
・Game data will now be downloaded after a player completes the tutorial (Quests 1 through 6).
・The ability to unlock Special Attack Bonus on a Medal will now be achieved upon completing the Quest 34 (previously 200).
※ If you had completed Quest 34 before the update, the Special Attack Bonus feature will be unlocked once the application has been updated.
・The Special Attack Bonus tier will now be displayed as a number in addition to the previously used icon.
・The Medal filter feature has been expanded.
・The Medal will now display the Special Attack Bonus tier upon being pulled.
・Added shortcuts to the Keyblade selection screen.
・Increased the speed of the jump attack animation when battling raid bosses.
★ Celebrate our 1st Year with an Encore of Past Avatar Boards!
・For four weeks from today until May 3, 2017, we will be bringing back a total of eight avatar boards from the past for a limited time!
(Each week will feature two sets of avatar boards.)
・Best of all, these avatar boards will be available for only 1500 Jewels apiece!
NOTE: If you had previously purchased these boards, you will not be able to purchase them again.

In this notice, we will explain the new "traits" mechanic, which was implemented during the maintenance from Apr. 5, 2017 8:00 p.m. to Apr. 6, 2017 4:00 a.m. (PT) / Apr. 6, 2017 from 3:00 to 11:00 (UTC).
■What are Medal Traits?
・When you fuse a Medal onto another Medal with the exact same name and rarity (in other words, a Medal with the same Album #), you will unlock the Medal's "trait".
・Unlike Skills, a Medal's trait(s) is always active.
※The Fantasia Mickey B Medal will not unlock any traits on a Medal.
※Fusing multiple copies of a Medal in the same fusion will not unlock more than one trait.
※Medal fusions performed before the update will not be granted traits retroactively.
・There are many different traits to unlock, and the trait that you get will be randomly decided each time you perform the Medal fusion.
・The number of traits you can have on a Medal (called "slots") differ from Medal to Medal.
・If you have filled in all trait slots on a Medal and attempt to unlock another trait, you will have the option of overwriting one of the Medal's unlocked traits.
If you choose not to overwrite, your Medal's trait(s) will not change.

●Affects only the Medal with the trait
| Ground Enemy DEF -20% | Deal increased damage against enemies that are on the ground. |
| Aerial Enemy DEF -20% | Deal increased damage against enemies that are in the air. |
| Damage in Raids +40% | Deal increased damage against raid bosses. |
| Extra Attack: 40% Power | Allows you to use the Medal a second time. |
| STR +1000 | Increases the Medal's Strength attribute. |
| DEF +2000 | Increases the Medal's Defense attribute. |
※If you have multiple Medals with the same traits in your loadout, the effects will stack NOTE: "Extra Attack" is an exception to this rule, since it will not stack past 2 of the effect.

Introducing Theater Mode!
・With the new Theater Mode, you are able to view story cutscenes of quests that you've completed!
・You can access Theater Mode from [MENU] > [Other] > [Theater].
・The story cutscenes will be divided by the world that they occurred in.

★ Simultaneous 6-Player Quests!
Read on to learn more about the new multiplayer "Union Cross" quests, which was implemented during the maintenance on Apr. 6, 2017.
■ What is "Union Cross"?
・Union Cross quests let you battle against the Heartless alongside other members of your Union in real-time! These quests will rotate periodically as you bring you a stream of fresh new content!
・By completing these quests you will earn "Cross Coins", which are used to unlock rewards on boards.
※"Cross Coins" can only be used during the period in which the Union Cross quests that you obtained the coins from were available.
※You can play Union Cross from [MENU] > [Quests]. Please note that you will need to have cleared Quest 34 in order to play Union Cross quests.
■ Quest Overview
・Upon starting the quest, your primary objective will appear on the screen. The quest will end when you complete this objective.
・During your quest, a timed objective may also appear on the screen. These are limited-time challenges, so you will want to work with your team to complete them before time runs out!
・The stages and objectives you will encounter are randomly decided based on the quest's theme. Work with your teammates to adapt to varying situations and tackle whatever might come your way!
■ Matchmaking
・From the Union Cross "Begin" screen, you are able to play quests with fellow Union members.
If you tap "Begin Now", you will immediately join a quest that other members from the same Union are currently playing.
If you tap "Begin with Party", you will enter a lobby that other party members can join.
・From the results screen you can choose to play again with the same players.
■ About Reviving
・If your HP reaches 0 and you become incapacitated, you will see a counter and gauge appear above your head.
・In order to be revived before the gauge depletes, your in-battle party members must tap on the counter until the number counts down to 0 and disappears.
・By tapping on a party member's counter, it will use up your current Medal's attack.
・Every time a player's HP reaches 0, the counter will start 1 higher than the last time that the player became incapacitated.
・If you are not revived before the gauge depletes, you can choose to either Use Jewels to Continue or Give Up.
■ About In-Quest Chat
・By tapping and holding on the speech bubble icon on the bottom right of the screen during quests, you can talk with your teammates using premade Chat Phrases.
・You can change which chat phrases you want to use by tapping on the "Chat Phrases" button from the Union Cross "Begin" screen.
■ Other
・If you get lost in a quest and want to find your teammates, simply tap and release the Chat Phrases button during a quest to briefly show icons indicating where your teammates are. Use this handy feature to quickly regroup with your team!
・You can see which players you've previously played with by tapping on the "Previous Members" button from the Union Cross screen. Use this to find parties to join or to recruit new party members!

・Every Wednesday, there will be the "Adamantite Ore Challenge: Use the Stroke of Midnight Keyblade" quest to get Adamantite, and the "Stroke of Midnight Materials" quest to get Keyblade upgrade materials.
※The "Stroke of Midnight Materials" quest does not require that you purchase the Weekly Jewels Extravaganza to access it.
You can also obtain Orichalcum by completing the new story quests to strengthen your Keyblade!

Holy crap that's a ton of content! Little miffed it doesn't say how much the Juggler Board is, I want that one. I have 21k Jewels, So I am getting Ill KHII Kairi no questions asked, the only question is whether or not I'll get enough Jewels (or get obcenely lucky enough in my first 5 pulls) to Guilt her and snag a KA5. It's a pretty good Medal, working both as a buffer and a damage dealer so it can be useful on Sleeping Lion. Good for pure Speed setups, though it does face competition from IllB&B. We'll see what happens in my pulls.
In the meantime, I am greatly excited for the update, hoping I get either the Attack Boost or SP+2 Trait on my Maleficent B and Combo Plus on Sora and Roxas (seriously, as we're getting Union X we'd better be getting the Pre-registration bonuses even if not mentioned in that huuuuge batch of notices). Yes, I know it's called Extra Attack now (EA40% for short, I guess), I just like saying Combo Plus more.
And since I'll be drawing at least 5 times from the Kairi Draw, I'll get about 4 other premiums as well, along with numerous other medals. Here's hoping I get stuff I either need or can use. Really, all this Anniversary is missing is more FMBs. Seriously, where are they? SENA better not think 2 and done is enough to sate us. Literally the only downside I'm seeing right now.

You know, the name thing is a good question (and one I should bring up over at Gamefaqs since the UX board there is about to be in a similar situation). I think it'll most likely just be renamed. Put in the simplest terms possible, Union Cross is a glorified update. Same system and same game with a truckload of additions, but the core gameplay is the same, unlike going from Browser X to Unchained X. So there's no call for making a whole new board for it. A rename will suffice.

Quick question - I remember there being a preregistration notice, with 6 medals for Sora and Riku each being an incentive. Was there any confirmation that it's for the Japanese release only? Or will we get these for the Western release too?
We will be getting those as well, as we've reached 60.000 preregistrations. We will also be getting 6k Jewels!

I pulled Illustrated KH2 Kairi on my FIRST pull. Holy crap. I NEVER have that kind of luck! So I kept pulling several more times to get her the second time (where I thought I would get her the first time) and now I can guilt her.
My saving up paid off... Although funny if I had only had 3000 jewels today I still would have gotten her. Lol.
Hmm, I got 5k Jewels. Also no Brooms in sight. Kinda expected another free one, or the announcement of their missions or something. O well.
So I really love the new filter option in the medals list, so many more options. They also got some new mission goals, which is nice. Although a bit hard to keep track of, like 50 hits in 1 mission. Do the hits still count after I kill the heartless? Speaking of Heartless, you can tap and kill the Heartless on the download screen, it's so fun :D (I got a boner for murder). Love the new intro, and Mickey is nowhere to be seen. Not that I have anything against Mickey and I understand he is a big marketing icon for their games. But it's nice too see that the important characters are now shown instead of the less important ones (in this game).
Also, it seems that medals now look bigger when you click on them. I love it. 1 thing that was great was the Kairi notice. They made such a big deal about her being a 5 pull mercy draw, like it's the first time ever. Not that I mind. But I guess that's why they stopped with mercy draws for a while, to hype this up a bit.
Haven't tried the traits yet but my party members love them. Best of all, after 4 years multiplayer is finally here. This is going to be so much fun!
All in all, I'd say that Square did this first Anniversary rather well. And then I haven't even looked at all the missions yet. Like free Cid missions!
But thid brings me to a question. Now we can reduce the cost of a medal past 10. Erm, what is the max now and why would we do that? Seems like a waste of Cids.
Eidt: Also it seems that that error where if you defeat a enemy while standing on a entry point to another map and then immediatly go to that new map is back. Or maybe it's just a existing error, coz that error they fixed by immediatly transporting you back to the place were you first started fighting the enemy. This is a error in the new story mission where they put a heartless on a entry point for god knows what reasons. So you would be transported back to the entry point and thus enter it. So maybe it's just stupid placement of Heartless. Should be fixed though.
Pull, guilt, reroll trait. Repeat all day long.
I love everything they've added, the multiplayer is fun, you can start attacking faster instead of waiting through all that "player turn" annoyingness and all the menu musics are better too. Loving it. No Ill. Kairi for me as I suspected, but the new trait system is so cool that it's fine. Got some nice ones already.
Wow, they just put up a notice that there is a crash issue for some players. They did that so fast... could this mean... better communication between the fans and dev team :O

We recieved 7 S&R Medals, that's what we were promised so that's normal. But I was also under the impression we would get 6k and not 5k.

Nice update, wish I had luck to get illustrated Sora but as usual my luck is terrible... had to do the full five to get Kairi mercy, then did an additional 5 pull to guilt her for Key Art 5, bleh.

Really? That's cool I guess, though keyblade cost hasn't really been an issue for a while since Cids have been given quite generously.

See the thing about reducing the cost, is that for my keyblades even if I reduce the medals by 10, I still have to have one of them be a 5 star otherwise it becomes too expensive. Now I can put all 6 stars into my keyblades! It was keeping me from leveling up some of my medals and otherwise making me weaker than i would have liked.

Well had to do 5 pulls of mostly useless medals but at the 5th pull.... 2 KH2 Illustrated Kairis... and both of them boosted..... I had never had a boosted medal before other than Classic Donald... excitement died a bit when I realized boost and guilt do not mean much on a medal with fixed damage but at least I'll be able to get the bonus medal... don't know if I should guilt the Kairis Right away or wait until last second to see if they have a minimum guilt event...
Other than the 2 KH2 Ill Kairis I also got the OG Ill Kairi which I thougt would be an awesome companion for my Ill B & B now that they raised the boost cap but +6attk does not seem to make that much of a difference over just +3 attk for some reason

I agree. I tried it with my IB&B and Sebastian, but +6 doesn't feel as strong as it should. I wonder what the multipliers are past +3/-3? Might help in figuring the new best damage output setup. One thing I can say is that stacking GenStr and PSM is still a great strategy. Got lucky on my Shark and rolled EA40 on him. Placed the SP Cost 1 from the board on him and it's a HUGE difference, as in noticeable versus Lv300+ enemies. +3 GenStr & +6 PStr really buffed my TT setup, and that's before WOFF Squall and IKairi2 activate. Got much higher in the Coli, above 500 atm in rank. Not sure if I'll stay above 1000 this month (would be amazing though, I'd get 2 of the Skill and Xigbar B would get a nice power boost since I currently plan on using one on Maleficent B anyways)., but hell I'll try.

I'm not sure about a guilt event, we had one a few weeks ago if memory serves. I think it will take a month maybe 2 before we get another. But this is the Anniversary event, maybe we'll get lucky.
And it wouldn't be that bad if you decide to wait with it for now. Guilt will only increase her set dmg output, all her other buffs will stay the same. So a 3 dot Ill Kairi is just as strong.

While I totally agree with Muke over here, I just read the notification email, and apparently there is mention that we will recieve 1 Fantasia Mickey B. So hopefully we recieve that one with the additional 1k Jewels.

For now I recommend you to not to guilt them and wait, not just for the guilting campaign, but for the next HSC, that way you'll have an extra 21%, which will be ultra helpful. Follow my advice, because I got ultra lucky and pull 3 Soras but I fused them without thinking it too much, and now I regret it ;-;
On that note, if I guilt before 4/25, I'll get Key Art #5 with 3-dots, so I'll probably guilt Ill KH2 Sora. Do you think rolling another 5x for another Ill KH2 Kairi (I have enough jewels) is worth it to guilt both Ill KH2 Kairi and Ill KH2 Sora to guilt Key Art #5?
I've heard Key Art #5 isn't too amazing, but maybe check it's stats and decide if you want it based on how well it would go with your setups? I'm sure there will be great deals in the future as well so I would probably save the jewels for later.
Key Art #5 is useful for Proud Mode. It's a single-target x3 buffer, the only one aside from Illustrated Kairi.
Considering how difficult the single target Proud Mode quests are (for me at least) it will be essential. Unless you already have Illustrated KH1 Kairi.
Oh yeah, true. Basically any medal might be useful for proud quests. I did tons of them to get enough of jewels for Kairi, and was super glad I didn't throw away all the medals I thought would be useless. Especially true for buff medals, best to have as many different kinds as possible because the restrictions prevent using them quite often.

For now I recommend you to not to guilt them and wait, not just for the guilting campaign, but for the next HSC, that way you'll have an extra 21%, which will be ultra helpful. Follow my advice, because I got ultra lucky and pull 3 Soras but I fused them without thinking it too much, and now I regret it ;-;
Based on recent info, the next HSC is most likely the Cinderella one, which isn't gamechanging and not worth getting worked up about, especially since only top scorers can Guilt it, and while the PSM Str/Def Buff is nice and it's AoE, the multiplier isn't rather high. Unless they buff it for NA, which I don't see happening. I'd say at least fuse them before the last day Guilt Campaign or not, otherwise you can't get KA5.
I'm still hoping we'll get the Dalmations event...Oh, and some real, honest to goodness Mickey and Brooms.

I prolly won't go for the paid medal, but I might see if now that I got better setups and IKairi2 (<3 <3 her!) if I can get really high in the HSC. I'm prolly going to also be able to get though the rest of the adaman quests now too; I noticed I can rip right though them now! I'll see later about the rest of the hard quests once I get keyblades up more.
Okay so I play on the JP server, I was waiting for Cloud and I don't see him did I miss the date?
