3DS XL released and KH3D

so has anyone noticed any screen scratching issues on the XL or were those just isolated incidents i kept hearing about? thats the only thing holding me back from getting the XL at this point...

The XL's bumpers are supposed to make it impossible for the bottom of the console to touch the top-screen, though after looking at my console it looks to me as if they may touch under pressure.

I'm being really careful with mine. I made sure to get my XL bundled with an essentials kit so I could have protection from day one.
There seem to be alot of problems with the XL's, as I have read people say that, out of the box, their consoles had dead pixels, dotted screens (it's not really scratching, I believe), broken shoulder buttons, hinges that are too loose or too tight (if the hinges are loose I think the screen may touch the bottom-half of the console) and one guy even said his touch-screen wasn't aligned in the console properly. I brought my console at Target and it seems fine; even though I believe it may have a dead pixel I wouldn't trade it in fear I may get a worse console. 8[

At first I was excited about the XL now I'm kind of paranoid about buying one and it being screwed up. These problems aren't wide-spread correct?

odd....I don't have any problems with mine.

I got a screen protector with mine, so maybe that's why I don't have any scratches, which is why I got to begin with.

But there's problems with it? That's news to me.

Maybe I should say that all of my info is off Gamefaqs, so it could be trolls, lol. I myself don't believe Nintendo could be so incompetent, but I thought I should post what others were saying here.

I was feeling the same way for the two days before I got mine, but it all worked out fine for me. I say don't be worried and get your console and if anything is wrong, take it back. c:

i'll probably wait a bit before getting myself an XL. don't necessarily like the blue and red colors anyways and i'd like to try it out first. i finally fixed my 3ds's scratching problem anyways, by sticking some thick foam dots above the top screen so it should be good for a while, and i can finally get rid of the cloth i've been sticking between them for the last year

The blue one actually looks alot better than it does on the computer screen, but I still would like them to release the silver one over here

There's always a ton of posts about defective handhelds whenever a new DS releases. Some of it's bull, but some of it's true.
My friend's launch DSLite had a cracked hinge, which eventually lead the the right hinge to breaking completely. Kinda like this:
