you know what else requires great skill? the sword and shield.

Actually, it's the opposite. You can give anyone a sword and shield and they could be a soldier. They are the most basic of weapons. Now, a sword alone takes a lot of skill. But with a shield it's just slash,block,slash,block,slash,block.

Let me rephrase that: You know what takes great skill to use on a level where you could slaughter ninjas, ogres, and guys throwing bombs without getting yourself killed? The sword and shield.

Actually it's nearly the same method. You know what takes skill?
Swinging two swords on the end of chains against Armies, Titans, & even Gods and still living through the onslaught. =P

Not to mention having to win each fight and move onto the next one.
You go get about..let's see...8 feet of chain. 5-8 ish...swing it around and see if you don't hit yourself. If you so much as touch yourself while swinging them with accuracy and speed then you're a failure for weilding an "easy" weapon as you'd say.

are you an idiot? you saw the movie, try doing that. now, try doing that with dozens of other guys pointy their sharp and pointy weapons at you. now, try doing that while guys are throwing bombs at you. now try doing that while holding a slab of metal. now try doing that in perfect formation with a few hundred other guys.
