^Spamz o:

Anyway, my library is out of these books. ._. It's for lame.

I just remembered that we had to read Ender's Game for English this year, like, as a class. It made the book a lot worse. Dx But it was cool that we read a book I know front and backwards. o:

If it bothers you then look it up. If he doesn't explain then it's not really important. The Portuguese doesn't bother me though, I like it.

I agree, the Portuguese really did it for me.

It added character to the book.

And I could normally pick up the meaning from context, it was well done.

Also, to fix my spam earlier.

Most SF books include some amount of slang or some language that is unique to it. I'll use "The Dragonriders of Pern" as an example. They have words and phrases which mean nothing to us until used in context. And they have a lot of it. Runners, gathers, between, so on and so forth.

SF thrives on creating slang and languages to make the setting real.

Yes, but when you blatantly add content just to push points you've already asserted on the reader, it tends to get annoying.

There's a difference between setting a culture and reiterating well-made points. :/

Books are ten times worse when you have to read them in class.

I'm sorry this one was ruined for you.

D: Often times, I try to go back and read a book I first read in class, but it's usually impossible to make them any better. >:
