I think that Xion's (confirmed name?) ability being something like data copy (like a Ronso using Lancet, copying abilities) would be kind of cool.
As for why she has a keyblade (even if it's fake): she saw Roxas fighting something/on a mission with it and copied that power, 'cuz she knew that there are more than one keyblade weilders in the realms.
