1. Name a band of your choice.

2. Top 3 songs from them (in your opinion).

3. Type up a short biography/description of them.
*NO omggg DEEZ GUYZ R DA B3sT LOL!1!1 Facts only. And maybe mild opinion.

-Nirvana

-Drain You
-All Apologies
-About a Girl

Nirvana was a grunge/alternative band from Aberdeen, WA. The lineup started with Kurt Cobain on guitar/vocals, Krist Noveselic on bass, and Aaron Burckhard on drums. The band went through quite a few drummers, including Chad Channing, who was the drummer recorded on "Bleach," their first album in 1989.

Though, Bleach wasn't very successful. The next album, Nevermind (1991), is universally known as their breakout album, because it was their first major record deal and included their signature song, "Smells Like Teen Spirit." From here on out, Cobain was swarmed with adoration from fans and misinterpretation of his own songs. (A followup album, "Incesticide" was released in 1992)

Kurt really didn't like the fan base he was attracting, so after the 2 or so years of touring in support of Nevermind, he went into the studio to record something completely different, and more raw. This spawned the 1993 album, "In Utero." Cobain died a year after in April, 1994, effectively ending the band. Grohl went off to form The Foo Fighters, who have been mildly successful. Noveselic was in a few crappy bands afterwards, and is now a politician.

I can't give a biography, seeing as to how I really don't know the background of this band, but I can tell you this. If rock was a woman, these guys would already have had their way with her, four times. At the same time. In a row. Sorry for the grotesque description, but there's no other way for me to describe audible sex. These guys are great.

At first, it might take a bit of getting used to the vocals, because they're a bit high pitched, and most of it will sound like screaming, but their sound is an acquired taste. The vocals are one thing, but if you can understand the lyrics, they are incredible. Very poetic, and most of it is backhanded insight in to todays society.

The chemistry in this band is what it's all about. They have an extremely versatile rhythm section, while the screaming guitars play out melodious tunes or screeching (insert cool sounding word to describe a song). With their insane vocals and their insane music, they make one insane group of guys who make hardcore/indie fun.

I've heard Doctor Doctor! by Blood Brothers. But I'll look into those other three.

So I'll admit they are pretty insane, in a good way. Just like having your way with a nice woman 4 times. =D

EDIT:

Do people not know how to summarize? This is more supposed to be in your own words, not wikipedia's.

Here's a slightly shorter version of the wikipedia bio:

The New Pornographers are a predominantly Canadian indie rock group formed in 1997 in Vancouver, British Columbia. Their sound is highly influenced by that of such power pop bands as The Cars and Cheap Trick; their songs, however, are generally of a greater melodic and harmonic complexity. The band has released three albums to date: Mass Romantic (2000), Electric Version (2003), and Twin Cinema (2005).

The band members include Daniel Bejar, Kathryn Calder, Neko Case, John Collins, Kurt Dahle, Todd Fancey, Carl Newman, and Blaine Thurier. The band is frequently referred to as a supergroup because each of the 8 members come from different backgrounds. However, main singer/songwriter Carl Newman doesn't believe it's an accurate description and wishes people to stop using it.

If you want a group that will provide you with catchy hooks, fiery riffs and upbeat rhythms, then this is the band for you.

Your taste in music never fails to impress me. Although I'd have to put "Love Rhymes with Hideous Car Wreck" in my top 3.

anyways....

I'll start with,

-Moving Units

- Between Us & Them
- Going for Adds
- Emancipation

- Not too sure of their bio. I know they started in Los Angeles, after their former band, Festival of Dead Deer, split. Soon, Moving Units formed. They play what is more commonly know as "Dance Punk", although they are much more a New Wave-inspired, synth-indie band.
Their sound will probably put off a lot non-indie fans, but anyone who likes some indie/electronic that you can dance too, will love them. They've started to get some more fan appeal lately, as they have been playing alongside Death From Above 1979, and open for NIN on occasion.

Horrible little bio, so all i can say is, go check them out for yourself.

-Deerhoof

-Running Thoughts
-Wrong Time Capsule
-Twin Killers

-Deerhoof is a San Francisco band formed in 1994 by drummer Greg Saunier and guitarist Rob Fisk, both of whom were also members of the band Nitre Pit. Their debut single "Return of the Wood M'Lady" was released the next year.

In 1996, Japanese native Satomi Matsuzaki joined the group as lead singer and bassist. Her foreign accent and lack of formal voice training didn't harm her success in the role of vocalist. In fact, the contrast between her high pitched, childish voice and the often harsh, noisy aspects of the band became one of Deerhoof's trademark features. This trio formed the band's line-up for their first LP, The Man, the King, the Girl, released in 1997. The album Holdypaws was released in 1999, and subsequently, founding member Rob Fisk left the band to form 7 Year Rabbit Cycle.

almost got to see them at Coachella this year. They're pretty amazing.

i'll do:

Electrico

my current fav band.

Absolute favourite songs from them would be

1. I Want You
2. Good Time
3. Runaway

They're one of Singapore's better bands... have been around since 2004,
and were nominated for Favourite Artist: Singapore for the MTV Asian Awards.

the lead singer was the DJ for a club on my birthday, dedicated a song to me and even bought me a drink. woot. xD

"Electrico is a band from Singapore playing melodic guitar-based rock n' roll with great pop hooks and a touch of class.

Five people whose music deftly traverses styles and genres, alternating between lush, mellow textures, funky grooves, driving feet-tapping-happy rhythms and frenzied rock explosions, playing tunes that were born from their hearts but that lodge themselves in your head.

See them live, and you know they're an indie rock powerhouse - entertaining, funny, stage moves aplenty, krazy-glue-like cohesion and packing enough energy to ignite any crowd...and watch as indeed, the audience goes nuts. But that's only scratching the surface when there's so much more inside. "

they've got a new album coming out soon, so
check out their myspace stuff from their new album.

Give them some credit. They have been far more successful than 'mildly'.

Band : Children of Bodom

Three best songs :
1. Hate Crew Deathroll
2. Bastards of Bodom
3. Every Time I Die

Children of Bodom is a heavy metal band from Finland. They have no real genre but most agree that it can be described as a hybrid of power metal, melodic death metal, thrash metal, and melodic black metal. The bands name is derived from a series of unsolved murders that took place near Lake Bodom in Finland back in the 1960s, which are referenced in many of their song's titles and lyrics.

Children of Bodom started back in 1993. After their demo fell through Alexi "Wildchild" Laiho took the band in a new direction. He started by hiring Janne Wirman to play the keyboards which truely added something new and distinctive to their sound for their first album, Something Wild and every album that has followed since then. Following the success of their first album they released two more albums in 1999 and 2000. Hatebreeder and Follow the Reaper.

In 2003 Children of Bodom saw the release of what many fans agree is their best album, Hate Crew Deathroll. The use of keyboard in synch with guitar was more apparent on this CD than any others and it really paid off by delivering a sound to the metal world that hadn't been heard before.

Their most recent album, Are You Dead Yet, fell back a little on the keyboard but the guitar was heavier, faster and louder which made up for it. The songs where the keyboard was present in the larger part of a song made them some of the more popular tracks on the cd, because of that In Your Face is probably the most popular song on the CD.

The band revolutionized the sound of heavy metal. The use of guitar in synch with the keyboard is one of the most well known qualities of the band.

^Aha, my friend's band might be opening for them (if they win this..."contest" I've heard about).

And Enchanted, I think mildly's about right. Meaning they haven't been shoved in my face time and time again. So outrageously successful would be more MCR/Green Day.

Not that any of the bands mentioned are that bad, aside from MCR, but I'm just saying mildly means successful, but not exactly...godly.

That would be awesome to open for Bodom. I entered a contest to win a guitar autographed by Alexi Laiho.
