I've been listening to their album a lot the past few days. My favorites are My Pet Snakes and Straight Edge of the Blade.

The first is apparently written about Jenny Lewis' former bandmate Blake Senett. Guess that means no more Rilo Kiley. =(

The second one is about a gay guy who won't come out, despite everyone knowing he's gay.

Anyway, I don't think it means anything one way or another for Rilo Kiley—remember Jenny's two solo releases, bookending Under the Blacklight? And now she's doing this. Girl's just spreadin' 'er wings.

Touche. I guess we'll see what happens in the long run. In the meantime though, I do like her solo stuff/Jenny and Johnny just about as good as Rilo Kiley material.
