Chapter 4: Balamb Garden
As Sarah was given the grand tour by the headmaster himself, Riku already was given a dorm to live in. He placed his sword on the bed and he seated himself in a rusty iron chair. “So this is Balamb Garden .... Home of the seeD, Home of knowledge ...... am I to become a seeD now?” Riku’s toughts were not his own. Although they were inside his head, he could still sence that they were inserted into his head. But how? He did not ponder over this for to long for he wanted to rest up before tomorow. But still what was inside his head, would not come out. Becouse of this he could not sleep, for everytime he closed his eyes, he could see what the person doing this to him, was thinking about. After a few hours, Riku got up and decsided to go over to the training fascility. He first walked over to the sink and turned on the water. He then made a bowl off of his hands and then he would allow the water to poor into it. He threw that water into his face, so that he would be more awake, more alert. Riku knew that not enough sleep, would eventually mean his end. For rest is the biggest weapon a man can have. “Where have I heard that before, that rest is a mans best weapon..... NOWHERE! This is the other person again! .....” Between the many worries, thoughts and ideas, something else would pop up inside Riku’s head: “Hollow Bastion.” This name kept popping up before his eyes now and again, only to be gone as fast as it came. “Hollow Bastion? What could be the reason that this name keeps appearing before my eyes?” Riku placed his head on the mirror over the sink, although that was a little to hard. The mirror broke and a peace of glass got stuck in his forehead. Right before he was leaving for the docter Riku could hear someone enter in the dorm besides him. He placed his ear near the wall and he listened in: “So Sarah, is everything ok Here?” “Yeah! Everything is fine. Wheres Riku?” “Hes right next door.” Riku was surprised by how thin the walls really were and he waited for the Headmaster to leave her room and return to his. A few minutes later, Riku walked outside and he headed towards the infirmary.
King Mickey sat alone in the throneroom thinking about what had happened today. “Why dont you come to bed Mickey?” Queen Minnie walked through the bedroom door and she sat besides him on Mickeys throne. She putted her hand around him and she hugged him. “Thank you my dear, but I think this will not work. I’m worried about Sarah! Might we have been to soon with this? I believe she wasnt prepared.” “But she has Leon and Cid with her.” “I meant that shes not ready for Riku.” “I second that.” A grin appeared on Minnies face. She took Mickeys hand and she placed her hand on his. “Everything will be Okay!” “But Minnie, how can you say that. The heartless have took another world.” “I agree, what happened to Agrabah is a pitty but ...” “I do not speak of Agrabah ........ I speak of Ducktown. Donald Duck and his family have been turned into heartless.” “Oh no, Not ......” Tears came from Minnies eyes as she realised that her best friend: Daisy, has been turned into a creature without a heart. “When will this end!” Minnie said. “I dont know my dear, but I hope Sarah will stop Sora soon.” One the kings advisers came rushing in the throneroom. “What insulence! Speak up soldier, what is your business with me.” The soldier went on his knee and placed his sword on the ground. “I am sorry my king, punish me if you must. But I come with a urgent message from Merlin.” “Then your are forgiven, stand up and tell me what the message is.” “ There lies only darkness in Sarah’s future. No light, No nothing. Only darkness.”
Dr. Kadowaki finished up with Riku without saying a word. But her curiousity got to her. “So Riku, how did you get that peace of glass in your face?” “Good Question ......... I’m having these weird thought lately. I wonder if they are real, or not. I guess that I’m being influenced by something. And all that i can think of is the door....” “Or perhaps something that happened before the door ... Something like Ansem.” Riku was suprised by the fact that the Doc had given such a good answer, and even more surprised by the fact that she knew that much of him. “By the look on your face, I can tell that you didnt expect me to answer like that.” “That is a fact doc.” “Ive had my fair studies in psychology. My guess is, that Ansems connection to the Hollow Bastionners rubbed of on you.” “Thats impossible, these thoughts were more feminine and the only Hollow Bastioner left is Leon.” “I’ll see what I can do hun, but I cant promise you anything.” Riku shook Dr. Kadowaki’s hand and he left the infermary. As he walked past the Lay-out of Balamb Garden, he noticed something intresting. “Perhaps some reading might help me clear my mind.”
The headmaster seated himself behind his dask as he looked at some old student files. “Ah, the students of before: Zell Dincht, Quistis .... Its been a long time since I saw students of there level.” The headmaster opened a dresser in his desk and he grabbed the remote control of a comunications TV. “I’m sorry my king. I have to do it. My sons life depends on it.” The headmaster pushed a blue button, the tv popped on and on the other side was a young man. That young man was Sora. “Sora, the one you call Sarah is currently inside the garden. I have already given you the blueprints of this place and its route . We agreed that if I deliver you Sarah, You give me back my son.” “He will be in the place we agreed upon.”
Sarah sat in her room pondering about everything that has happened. About Traverse town, Leon, Merlin, Everything. Then it hit her, THE KEYBLADES! She forgot the keyblades! Sarah looked through the window and saw nothing but stars. “Its to late! My god no. What have I done” She aswell cried that night, regreting that she forgot the one, no two things that got her into this. “Dont cry Sarah!” Leon walked in her dorm and stood besides her near the window. “You did not forget the keyblades for they are always with you. You cannot leave them behind, for they are in your heart. Just believe in it and htey will come.” Sarah closed her eyes and she pictured the blades in her hands. And the moment she tought of it, it became reality. “Here, take this. These are two Keychains. Equip your blades with a chain and they will adapt themselves to the chains powers. These are two Lionheart chains.” “Thank you Leon. Youve helped me alot .... To much really. First with the spells and now with this.” “I am here for that reason only. I promised myself to help someone find the next Keyblade master. And I’m happpy to see that that someone is you.”
“So these are Ansems reports.” Riku said whilst he skimmed through them. “Lets read them properly now:” The last 2 paragraph were important so he read those ones with great attention.
Simply astonishing! Today I had a guest from another world. he is a king, and
his vessel is built of the material that composed the meteors. He called the
pieces "gummi blocks." It seems that my opening that door has opened a path to
interworld travel. We talked for countless hours, but one story in particular
caught my interest: that of a key called the "Keyblade." The Keyblade is said
to hold phenomenal power. One legend says it's wielder saved the world, while
another says that he wrought chaos and ruin upon it. I must know what this
Keyblade is. A key opens doors. It must be connected to the door that I have
opened.
Just as people have hearts, so do worlds. The same can be said of stars in the
night sky. And deep within each world lies a door to its heart. The Heartless
desire those hearts. Born out of the darkness in people's hearts, they seek to
return to a greater heart. Yes, that's it. The Heartless come from people's
hearts, as does the darkness. is the core of the world's heart the world of the
Heartless. I will pursue the answer there, and become all-knowing. My path is
set. I will seek out the wielder of the Keyblade, and the princesses. My body
is too frail for such a journey, but I must do this. I will cast if off and
plunge into the depths of the darkness.
Riku layed the book on the table as he heared the voice of the doc coming closer. “RIKU!” “Yes?” “I found another Hollow Bastionner.” “Tell me, who is it.” Docter Kadowaki entered the room and she placed herself in the opposite chair of Riku’s. She then places a document before him and she opened the file. “Although I did not find a first name. Her last name is: Gainsborough
