I've started taking a lot more photos recently. I'm trying to learn to take more interesting shots, but animal photography is my favorite, so I tend to get distracted from other shots when a bug hops past or a bird lands in a nearby tree.

I have a Nikon D60 with an 18-55mm VR lens and a Minolta SRT-201 with 50mm, 700mm, and 135mm lenses. These were taken with the D60 though since the Minolta is undergoing repairs. The one with the frog however was taken with a friend's D40 and his 55-200mm lens.

Here's some of my favorites I've taken since I've gotten into photography:

Very cool :D! The ones with the insects are nicely done.

The fifth one is almost pulling you forward down those stairs. It reminds me of Altos de Chavón in the Dominican Republic, it has alot of staircases such as that one all over. The sixth one makes me feel like something will pop up any second. Haha, it's really neat though, I like ominous pictures like that. :]

I like the frog and the tunnel one the most out of those. My favorite by you would still be the 'peace' symbol made with BBs on the guitar case.

Thank you for your comments. :]

I actually spent a lot of time learning to get my lighting to look just right. Some of these photos were taken in really awful lighting conditions, and I had to set up lights and stuff to make it look good. The frog for instance is actually being lit by a work lamp that I got from my garage. He was a very nice model and stayed exactly where he was while I set everything up.

I was considering doing that photo again soon, Riel. The first time I took it I had just started and hadn't learned to focus properly or set up lighting right so it was all blurry.

If I may say so myself, your pictures look better than the default ones on a Windows Vista OS running computer. They look amazingly great.

The first flower shot has a lot of potential had you chosen a different angle. The design inside is pretty nice. That being said, I agree with Crow, though I like the staircase shot more than the frog.

The seeds inside the design sparkle incredibly brightly no matter what time of day I take a picture of it or if I use flash or no flash. It's hard to describe the sparkles, but they didn't look good at all. That angle was the only angle I could get the photo at without a bunch of garish sparkling messing it up or moving the flower and risking the wrath of my mother if it broke since I had already broken one other of the same flower trying to get a similar shot without sparkles.

Thanks, Crow. As I said, I'm trying to learn to take more interesting and creative shots.
