What's in the door in Destiny Island? Does link to the darkness or what?

the door in destiney isalnd leads to the heart of that world. It is the basically the key hole. That is why when the heartless came the door was opened.
Yeah. But I have a feeling there's something more to it than that, you know?
But then why there is no keyhole.

Isn't it just the door to the world? Like the door in Traverse Town? That's what I always assumed it was...didn't think that there was much more to it than that.
yes as said before their was a key hole and I merely believe it was the door to the heart of destiney Isaland.
I guess that could be a way for Kairi to have gotten there...but Sora found Kairi washed up on shore. Eh...*blinks* Maybe it's a door to different worlds even when they aren't connected...? Dunno. It'd be cool though.

In opening the door that stores a world's hearts, the wall around that world is
broken down. We see this as a shooting star. Through this, I have been able to
understand the reason why the material known as Gummi Blocks has the ability to
allow travel to other worlds.
The cause of a world's wall collapsing is the appearance of the Heartless, but
finding a world's door takes time. And robbing a world of its heart is a
similar case.
If the door has been closed by the key known as the Keyblade, you probably
cannot reach that world's heart again. Before the one with the Keyblade appears
in this world, I must take measures to do something.
Supposing that there is a close relationship between the Princesses and the
Keyblade, it seems likely that they will resonate with each other...
I have chosen one special girl. I do not know if she possesses a power like
that of the Princesses. But, there is a chance, and this is an experiment. She
may lead me to the place where the one holding the key is...
I shall send her off to the ocean of other worlds.

The keyhole on Destiny Islands was supposed to be locked,but when they released it to America they changed the crappy story and that's why there was a FM.

No, douche, the story was not altered in any way in the English version, nor in KH:FM
In a beta trailer, and I'm not sure, but I think in the original jap version, the door in the Secret Place has a keyhole on it. The American version took out the keyhole, and just made it a wooden door, except for the flashback scene in monstro where it showed itself to Riku
And there was nothing aobut it being locked, because if it was locked, the Heartless couldn't ahve taken over the world. It was something as simple as, keyhole there, keyhole not there. Nothing more, nothing less, no added story, no lesser story. it was just a small change in the graphics

Riku's dawn where the hell did you find that fake piece of crap info... the was a FM because we had a few secret boss fights added to the American version.... which pissed off the jap kids and they had a little bitch fit so Nomura mad a final mix with 3 extra cut scenes (riku goes to HB, Sora has Memories of Riku and what happens to Riku after they close the Door) and they also got to fight th Org at HB
