The Little Mantis
--------------------------------------------------------------
A weak little bug, is it not?
Traveling aimlessley across earth and rock
without a care in the world.
The little mantis knows many things,
those that are most important of all.
Crossing the dewey leaf and sticky sand
he pauses and for an instant and looks around.
Crossing a street, he makes it to the next side,
unharmed and still has kept his calm.
He crawls upon a leafy fern and as he sits upon
his pearch of green a larger being comes forth and
without knowing, rustles the fern leaving the mantis
in a state of inversion. Taking a look at what had happened
he ponders why the human wasn't more careful.
A little mantis knows many things, perhaps he will never understand
the ignorance of man.
