No, Chaser lives in Australia and he gets it before us all.Funny that it’s not on the Funimation app yet, at least not where I am. I’m guessing Hulu got it early?
Yeah, it will be. It’s usually up within an hour after the Japanese broadcast. If my math is right, it’ll be up in 15 minutes at the time of this writing. Is it going to be on Funimation today, tho?
Ok. I will be watching on Hulu, but I was curious.Yeah, it will be. It’s usually up within an hour after the Japanese broadcast. If my math is right, it’ll be up in 15 minutes at the time of this writing.
In the meantime, Square-Enix shared the anime‘s opening:
the weird thing is it’s uploaded in Australia about 12 hours prior to it airing in Japan.Okay that explains the leak onto YouTube then.
Because looking from a clock standpoint, it should be airing in Japan around 1:25am their time right?
But Australia is in an hour ahead of Japan, so I could see why they’d like fans to watch it at a more reasonable hour than 2 in the morning.
Personally waiting for it to come out on the official venues, but I did see the OP & ED, and they look pretty cool
Oh yeah, definitely love Ilya Kushinov‘s art in the ED. I’m happy he got to be part of the team making the anime, conspidering he’s made fan art for it in the pastI really enjoyed this weeks episode a lot more than last weeks. The battle sequences didn’t give me as much of a headache this time around.
I loved the opening, it was a pleasant surprise. The art on the credits was adorable.
Huh... that‘s odd indeed I guess my theory isn’t so far off.the weird thing is it’s uploaded in Australia about 12 hours prior to it airing in Japan.
Spoiler ShowThe events of Game!Day 4 start with the group waking at 104, with pretty much the same conversation happening, but Game!Neku keeping his thoughts internal. Beat and Rhyme are already there with them at 104 rather than them stopping by the street car by Hachiko in the anime. This is where things start to split from the game. While Beat & Rhyme do split from the group, it’s because he’s not interested in the crowd if it’s not mission related in the anime, rather than making a race out of the day’s mission. Neku and Shiki stop by 104 for window shopping but don’t go inside as the decal for going inside shops hasn’t been established... yet? So sadly we don’t get the Prince calling Neku a spicy tuna roll.
The missions for the week so far have been the same as the game, but we’ve had a shuffle in the order this episode. The game missions for Days 5 & 6 are moved ahead to Days 4 & 5 in the anime, and from the episode preview we can assume Day 4’s has moved back to Day 6.
How they go about the missions is also handled differently. In the anime for the Spain Hill mission, Shiki uses Imprinting to get Ai and Mina to talk it out, rather than use Reaper Creeper. And rather than a Tin Pin Slammer event for Makoto, the tickets are for a 777 concert as a birthday present for Ai. The aftermath of the day is almost the same until Eri comes by. In the game, we get Higashizawa coming to test Neku and Shiki and taunt the latter, which is also when we get the reveal that Neku is dead.
Imprinting comes into play again for the Scramble Crossing mission too. Rather than battling Noise wearing the Red Skull to affect the trends like in the game, Neku comes up with the idea to use Eiji Oji to get people to come with him to Scramble Crossing and watch the ad. This is also where the key pin 777 gave Shiki comes into play, as well as her comment on Neku having 2 Player pins, which was originally in Game!Day 2. Also, Anime!Day 5 marks the first time Neku calls Shiki by her name rather than having him do so at the end of the week like in the game.
During this mission is also the first time we meet Eri in the game and learn Shiki’s entry fee. Once we get the crowd in place, that’s when we get another deviation. In the game the commercial plays as normal, with different people commenting on it, including Eri, and the mission is cleared. In the anime, we have the snake Noise show up erasing Players, along with Joshua’s intervention. We also hear the full conversation of why Eri would give up on her dream, rather than Shiki running away twice out of fear. And finally, in the anime Shiki is the one to tell Neku the point of the Reaper’s Game and what her entry fee was.
