Ok one day I was sitting in french class (this was a while ago I just forgot about it) andI was looking in the dictionary for a word and i came aross the word Traverse, and it means cross in french so do you think the ment to call it Cross Town?

maybe, it is mostly filled with people from other worlds so, i guess it is a cross of people so that makes sense.
You're probably right kerobaroes. Or maybe Traverse Town just means that you will travel/traverse there often.

you also have to keep in mind that KH is a japanese game, and not a french game, so it could be what it means but i wouldn't hope to much.
Well yes, even in English, "traverse" is a verb meaning "to cross" which I'm sure is symbolic in Kingdom hearts for a crossover that occurs in Sora or something. But they definitely meant to call it Traverse town. If they didn't mean to do it, they wouldn't have done it.
Didn't Traver Twon have those twisted cross symbols?

Nah it was probably the same thing that they did in Hollow Bastion. Hollow meaning empty and Bastion meaning fortress. I think they thought it'd just be a cool name.
