Marluxia just wanted more power. Which i don't really see why. I had a harder time beating Marluxia in Re:com than Xemnas in KH2. So yea.... he was probably already stronger. But felt he needed Sora for more power. Which i see why.

Not that he wanted more strength. He wanted more power. The power to control the Organization, the power necessary to be the Superior. That has nothing to do with strength, for the most part.
