Producer Okayama & Co-Director Ito speak about plans for Global version of Unchained X

KINGDOM HEARTS Unchained X Producer Hironori Okayama and Co-Director Hiroyuki Ito are in attendance at PAX East this weekend, and some fans had the opportunity to ask some questions. 

When asked about any plans for the global version, the two state that they plan on increasing the power levels to be on par with that of its Japanese counterpart. Not only that, but they will finally be adding the illustrious Mickey and Broom Servants medal, which allows players to fill in 1 ability slot on any medal of their choosing.

However, for those who have been following Unchained X, it's no secret there is a disconnect between Square Enix and the community, leading to miscommunications regarding criticisms and feedback. In order to combat this, they would like to put more resources into the North American offices in the coming months to promote a stronger community presence on social media, as well as on individual forums.

Allow me to echo the thoughts of the whole community when I say the following:

YEEEESSSSSSSS!!!!! FINALLY, AT LAST, WE'RE GETTING THE BROOMS!!! YEEEEAAAAHHHH!!! ABOUT DANG TIME! THEY'RE COMING! GLORY SHALL ARRIVE AT LAST!!!

When I saw the topic title I was hoping they'd address that, but honestly wasn't expecting them to. Thankfully they have, we're getting Brooms at last, all shall be well. You know I'm going to go after them like crazy, so many medals I want to Guilt, especially big ones like Maleficent, all my non-guilted WOFF Medals starting with Sephiroth, Ill Mickey and the Ill Kairi I got, freaking Xemnas B....Damn I hope they will rain those brooms from the skies to make up for lost time, especially if they truly plan to close the power gap. We're gonna need Brooms by the bucketload and those Broom VIP Quests. I'm actually looking forward to the future now. So glad my hope wasn't in vain, so many medals I've held on to solely in hopes Brooms would arrive. It's all about to pay off.

This is wonderful news. Finally, we won't have to rely solely on getting 7 copies of the same medal to guilt, which requires unspeakable amounts of money for the premium medals. Thank goodness.

I won't be overly surprised if the Brooms end up being VIP-exclusive or something. Gotta keep being greedy bastards somehow.

I couldn't watch the video because it's too hard for me to understand. However, from what I understand they said Mickey and Brooms would be added "in due time". Whatever in the world that means.

It is a scary prospect, though, depending on how they add them. If they're locked behind VIP then the gap between the pay 2 play and the rest of us will get worse, because those people will be guilting their Tier 4 and 5 medals left and right. As for the rest of us... No luck. VIP is just too high of a price to pay, even for Mickey and Brooms.

Wow really? Mickey and Brooms finally? Nice. :3 Now I can finally guilt my Key Art #2 and beat those proud mode plus sun stone quests... I didn't hear that in the interview. ^_^ Wonder when it will be implemented...? If I had to guess, probably with the anniversary event, just to emphasize the event more would make sense.

Not sure if anything has changed recently, but iirc there are only like a handful of people with access to the SE social media accounts between SENA and SEEU, and the ones that do have to manage ALL of them. That being said, it is very clear that the KH accounts are managed super poorly, not just for Unchained. The main account posts as if they're speaking to 5-year-olds, and promotion for new titles is dreadful.

Makes you really wonder what's happened. It's like we were spoiled by pre-1.5 days. Everything since has been just... bleh.

At least we can take some solace that KHI is one of the sites they're watching (for better or worse lol).

I actually gave up on seeing those Broom Medals. I heard that JAP only got them because of some laws they have there. But holy shit, we are actually getting them. O god... time to start hoarding Fantasy Mickey medals. This is going to be so awesome. Guilting all my TAV medals fuck yeah!

Well from what I understand they are also for VIPs in JAP. And they are hard to get for non VIP because they are high ranking rewards in events. So I don't expect it to be any different here.

That's indeed worrying. Wouldn't be the first time they postpone an update (or outright not do it) for a half year.

You know, I'm not really that excited about the possibility of getting Micky and Brooms. Like, I could totally see them only being available to paying players or really powerful players at first, which would only widen the gap between the haves and have-nots in the game. I mean, it's not like they haven't done things like that before (e.g. High Score Challenges).

That said, if they make good on their promise to put more resources into NA version, that could be really helpful. They've definitely had some problems with communication in the past, and anything they could do to mitigate that would be a boon to us, I think.

I really don't think this is going to end well for us. I highly doubt even VIP players in the international version of KHUX will be able to get as many broom medals as non-paying players in KHUX JP get. We've just been screwed by SENA so much that I have absolutely no faith in them. I don't believe any of this shit that they're trying to feed us.

There are people who think the addition of brooms just makes the gulf between whales and F2P players even bigger and insurmountable in things like HSC and the coliseum. It seems the only for sure benefit would be being able to more easily make it through story quests. But of course, the knowledge that everyone could get Brooms could make even those more difficult to the point where it isn't a benefit at all...

Something to think about anyway.

Yeah, I agree that this might not be that great of a thing really. If the ones putting tons of money in it can guilt all their premiums then there's really no way to compete at the HSC or Coliseum at all anymore. I understand it, gotta give something to the ones who pay, but the gap is already quite big so making it even bigger feels a bit iffy. Oh well, as long as the story guests can be completed by f2p I can live with it.

Finally, I honestly thought we'd never get them, a lot of people were saying how the anniversary was our only and last hope, I'm happy it's happening, now, let's wait and see HOW we get them.

And another finally, I hope they fix how they communicate with fans and how they recieve the feedback, because untill now it's been disastrous.
