Interesting. Digital only because 1.5+2.5 is 57GB which is more than a blu ray.

The question now is: why is it bigger than on ps4?

Do they include by default the 10GB DLC for theater mode? Or did they finally improve the video quality of the cutscenes in com, days and re:coded?

I’m assuming it’s the free DLC bundled in or maybe after everything was said and done with the port, it ended up being a bit larger and they didn’t bother attempting to compress it down for XB1.

That does not bode well for potential Switch ports. The prospect of PS2/P games being somehow too big for modern systems is ridiculous.

The problem is that they went with prerecorded videos for chain of memories, days and re:coded cutscenes instead of ingame cutscenes. Thus, the quality is bad AND it takes space to store 9 hours of video. That was a mistake in my opinion because you cannot ever remaster videos.

I mean you technically can via smart technology that can upscale and smooth out visuals, and we’ve even seen AI that can do full visual overhauls. You are right that they can’t go in and remaster it directly, but considering that at least Days and the other movies were made fairly recently, those data files should still exist so they can rerender it all if they wanted to. Re:CoM might be less likely to have the original files laying around...SE was notoriously bad at archiving back in the early and mid 2000s.

Available in NA now. $49.99 for 1.5+2.5, $59.99 for 2.8. Seriously Square?
