The magical world where you can never grow up. Neverland is filled with varying inhabitants; Indians, Pirates, the Lost Boys, and the leader of the Lost Boys - Peter Pan. In Birth by Sleep you're free to roam the islands of Neverland, the Indian village, and even the Lost Boys' secret hideout.
Ventus is the first of the trio to arrive on Neverland. He crash lands there and wakes up on land with Tinker Bell and the Lost Boys checking him out. When Ven recover the boys ask him to accompany them to the Indian camp where they believe they saw a shooting star land. Meanwhile, we're given a glimpse of Mickey and Vanitas in the Indian camp. While the Lost Boys, Tinker Bell, and Ven travel to the camp, Ven stumbles upon Mickey's star shard. But the shard is quickly swept up by the evil Captain Hook (leader of the pirates) who also manages to capture Tinker Bell.
Ven chases down Captain to save Tinker Bell and get back Mickey's star shard. The two battle it out and when Ventus defeats Captain Hook, Hook flees the place as the crocodile follows close behind. Afterwards, the Lost Boys followed by Peter Pan, appear on the scene carrying a treasure chest that once held treasure, but admitted from the Lost Boys was lost by them. Peter Pan tells the boys and Ven that they should put in their prized possesions. Ven places his Wooden Keyblade into the chest and leaves the world.
Terra lands on Neverland second of the three, he runs into Captain Hook and Smee who are being attacked by Unversed, the two run away and Terra defeats the Unversed. After saving Captain Hook, Hook lies to Terra and tells him that he needs to move his treasure to a safe location because a boy by the name of Peter Pan has made many attempts to steal it, Terra, who believes Hook goes to Skull Rock and protects the treasure from Peter Pan
When Peter arrives, Terra is quick to fight. The fighting stops when Terra finds out he was tricked. The Lost Boys then run up to Terra and exclaim that there are monsters in Skull Rock. Terra goes to the cave and finds a swarm of Unversed and the Lost Boys trapped. After defeating all of them he leaves Neverland.
Finally Aqua arrives. She finds a treasure map and is told by Peter, Tinker Bell, and the Lost Boys that as the finder she is initiated leader. She goes in search of the treasure and finds that Captain Hook has stolen the treasure again. When Hooks opens the chest and see that there is no 'real' treasure, he abandons it. Aqua discovers Ven's Wooden Keyblade in the chest and learns of Ven's time in Neverland.
Before Aqua leaves she senses the presence of another Keyblade Wielder somewhere near the Indian camp. When she arrives she finds Vanitas who has taken Ven's Wooden Keyblade. He snaps the Keyblade in half which sets Aqua off. Vanitas declares he no longer needs her around and the two clash it out. Aqua defeats Vanitas but is severely weakened and blacks out. She is then awakened by Peter and he tells her of Ven and Terra. Aqua then takes her leave.
