Green light for Green Lantern animated series

I might just be coming off the high from Blackest Night, but I'm seriously hyped up about this. Cartoon Network will be airing Green Lantern's own personal animated series in the fall of next year. It's currently unknown if it will star Hal Jordan, another known Lantern, or somebody entirely new, but I'm seriously keeping my eyes and ears open for this.

Yah, I read it over at IGN. It will go great with Thor Animated Series etc.

Just sucks that X-men got canned. 2011 is looking good though, may get back into TV LOL

The Green Lantern movie, the direct to dvd animated move, and this new Animated series are all going to come out within a few weeks of each other. The past few years have been very good to Green Lantern.

So who do you want to star in the animated series?

I read it was going to be based on the movie and done in CGI.

But if anything, I'd like to focus more on the Corps. Hal gets shown around the universe by a new fellow Lantern every week. Would be fun, even if it violates the GLC rules.

Yeah, but which movie? the one from last year or one of the two coming next year?

That's actually a pretty good idea. I would personally want to see the Green Lantern Corps star in its own show all together. Maybe have it's own spin off series.

The upcoming movie which Warner Bros. is basing all this Green Lantern success off of. The one with Ryan Reynolds.

And no, I don't think the Corps needs a spin-off animated series. Just leave it to within this animated series. If it's going to last a few seasons, you need a strong supporting cast. That's the Corps. And it needs to be introduced and highlighted so people can get used to it.

Wow, they really are pushing for GL to be just as big as Batman and Superman. Not that im complaining just never expected a GL animated film

Eh, Animated Series of certain characters don't end up well. Iron Man's animated, poorly CGI'd series disgusts me.

I personally dont like the animation style. Was hoping it to look more like the 90's Animated films. I do like that The Red Lanterns are gonna be the first villains for this

These CGI shows really dont appeal to me. It would have been just fine if they kept it like most of the other DC animated shows and films. I just have a feeling it's going to be lacking in a lot due to the fact that its a CGI show. That's how most of them turn out it seems. You barely ever see one lasting more than a season or two. But then again, you barely see anything lasting for more than a season or two these days. Well DC seems to be really pushing GL though. TV show, new video game, feature length animated film, the live action film next year, and I don't blame them. Its a great comic. I just hope they don't over do it and start making useless things with the GL label.

It's all Timm's designs just BTAS and STAS. It's just all in CGI similar to The Clone Wars CGI series.

Timm said he chose to go with CGI on this project because of the nature of the series taking place in space and the Green Lantern constructs. He still likes 2D animation and wants Warner to develop a healthy mix of both.

It's confirmed for two seasons - 26 episodes - at the least. But I'm betting on this series being a success.

I'd prefer it to be non-CGI, but hell it's Bruce Timm, I have faith in that guy.

Ew. CGI. I like the 90s style animation Timm usually goes with.

But damn, since it is Bruce Timm and I consider him god for creating BTAS, TNBA, BB, STAS, JL, and JLU, I think I can deal with the graphics.

And knowing him, Hal won't remain the main character all of the time even though this is supposed to be based on the movie.

Maybe I just want to see Kyle Rayner...>_>

I don't know about an adaptation of the Blackest Night storyline, but I think Timm mentioned that the Black Lanterns may appear somewhere down the line. I'm to understand that Carol Ferris will also appear as Star Sapphire.

And knowing him, Hal won't remain the main character all of the time even though this is supposed to be based on the movie.

Well, yay for Guy...I guess. Never my fav GL. Didn't like him then, didn't like him in the Blackest Night as a Red Lantern, and I'm pretty sure he won't appeal to me in this new series.

Well I really liked the animation they used for First Flight. Kinda wish it was consistent with that. Im sure I'll get used to it. No doubt that this will go beyond 2 seasons. The GL fan base consistently grows.
