Nice visuals, but at this point I feel Nomura is just throwing out things that pops into his head, religiously. Forgetting important key points in the process. Kinda like a child forgetting to put back their figures in the toy box, and instead bring out a new one.

For example, why is this location not accessible in KH3, since it's purposed major role on the cover art? Is it a planned DLC episode like some state or just a hint of the next game/s? The fact that a video game reference from Toy Story is relevant to the new saga is almost baffling.

There's too many questions and a lack of understanding Nomura's intended vision. It's too muddled to be understood. How does this tie into the Epilogue? It's like a completely different arc. If this is another dump at Nomura's history on Versus XIII, he probably should take a break from the directing and let a fresh voice with a different vision take charge.

One could say that the secret ending in KH2 & KH were very ambiguous, that's true! But there still was somewhat more of clearer approach to find hints what was happening. An explanation how Sora & Riku ended up in these locations would not have been too much to ask now would it?

Meanwhile, Kairi is helplessly waiting to be relevant again.

Oh, I just checked and the "4" is done the same way as TWEWY's 104 building (can't put together a comparison at the moment.) It's possible that it doesn't mean what I want it too, but that's how I'm taking it!

I could certainly see TWEWY being involved even if it isn’t meant to be the exact same version of Shibuya that is seen in TWEWY. I just don’t expect the story to be like a TWEWY sequel based on the setting alone. Though they could probably do some cool stuff with it if they use the concepts. It may ultimately depend on how the Switch release of TWEWY was received for Nomura to include the elements from that series. Maybe he didn’t show Neku because he wanted to gauge interest first? Idk.

That all said, Sora looking at his palm may have been a nod to the timers the TWEWY characters have on their hands.

Here’s hoping we get some insight from the Ultimania!

In "A New Day", Neku gets killed again and Shinjuku disappears from existence. Shinjuku is on the cover of KH3 and this secret ending features Shibuya and Shinjuku heavily. These are not coincidences.

Why is that boy with the mismatched eyes from said game featured in the secret ending at a location that's obviously not Toy Story reality? Are they inside said game like they were in the datascape in Coded or is that game character in Verum Rex actually modeled after a real person that exists somewhere in the KH Universe?

The KH cover shares these two dominant colors in its depiction of Shinjuku, leading me to believe this is the same world from the KH cover. I just don’t know why they made it the cover of this game and not the game this will happen in. Lol

There’s also a billboard or something with Sora’s crown on it.

I also want to point out Nomura's salt here and mention that Noctis was blue and Stella was orange in that very old trailer where they are about to fight in the streets of Insomnia which was just Tokyo, which further evokes the sense of "wow its diddlying versus" c:

I'm all for having a plan/roadmap form time to time but damn this man could deal with reeling it back a little. The fact that everyone's new outfits fit this style and match the world's characters makes me wonder how long he's wanted to set this up.

Alrighty, time to get all my thoughts out. Time for the deep analysis!

General thoughts:

I personally love the secret ending. I honestly love that we seem to finally be getting the ff versus stuff that I wanted so much but never got. It also feels like Nomura stood up to SE bringing all the versus elements in. It's really exciting! I think if we look at versus plot points from the old trailers we may be able to piece together things for the future of kh. For example, the words from Somnus can actually now be applied KH. I can't probably write another post showing that.

Thoughts about the world:

So I almost wrote this in the head cannon thread but one thing that always bothered me about the series is that the box art is never actually a place in the game. I thought for kh3 this would change with that beautiful artwork and now seeing this I definitely feel like this was the place it was suppose to represent. It's awesome that the box art has this giant spoiler on it, but no one knew up until now.

Second, I'm really excited that this seems to be where Neku might show up. It was kind of disappointing because when Neku said "see you in shibuya" in DDD i thought we were gonna get that in kh3. and nope! Looks like we're going to get it in kh4? Ty nomura for not forgetting us!

Third, it does give that "real world" impression that ff versus had. One thought that someone suggested was that End of the World was a heartless world we had in kh1 and the World that Never Was was a nobody world. Well, since we finished those worlds....wouldn't that theoretically mean that the world would be "re completed" aka THIS NEW WORLD!? Just a thought.

You could describe this video as a tease for the setting of the new saga while the epilogue is a tease for the plot of the next saga.

A plot thread is the good guys trying to find out what happened to Sora at the end. So he got transported to this place after finding Kairi.

Maybe this also where the Master of Masters is? the guy at the end could be him.

I can see the TWEWY vibe. Maybe Sora gets roped into his own reapers game? Maybe the MoM is his partner?

EDIT- The verum rex stuff could point to it being in the Data realm but I'd prefer it in the realm of sleep.

I didn't even notice that, lol. Nice catch! Tbh, I've been low-key hoping and expecting to play in the world on the cover of KH1 and on the extended promotional art of the 1.5 hd remix for a while now. It just looked to so different from all the original worlds we'd experienced up to that point. Though I guess it does bare some slight similarities with Holloween Town in its overall vibe/aesthetic.
