Story

The World. The most popular online virtual reality game all around the globe. Everyone is playing it. But as the world your used to, the one you call reality, becomes so technelogically advanced and the world you play in becomes more real by the minute, do you ever wonder what's real...and what's not?

But what do you care. You're just someone playing a game. What happens in the game has nothing to do with the real world...right? Those strange incidents and the people falling into comas have nothing to do with you...right?

Because you're just someone playing a game...right?

Strange things are happening in the online game called "The World". People that are PKed are disappering left and right and some are being mutated beyond recognition by strange virus's called AIDA.

One day, you're just someone playing a game. The next, you're someone saving "The World"

Rules:

1. No Godmodding or Powerplaying
2. Swearing and Romance, keep it PG13
3. Posts must be at least readable
4. You cannot PK/PKK anyone without asking them and if they agree to it
5. Levels must be 100 or under
6. Try not to machine-gun post so that people can catch up
7. Have fun ^_^

Note: Since we're straying from some elements, here's some things to be aware of.

The Guilds-There is no Canard or Raven. However, there is:
Kestrel- guild for PKs
Moon Tree- kind of the "help center" guild
Icolo- Arena Emperor guild
Medic Union- the Harvest Cleric guild that helps heal people in fields/dungeons

And any others that I forgot or you make up.

She doesn't really fight, mostly only in defense. She has joined nearly every guild, Kestrel being the longest, only to leave when it got boring. She once entered the Demon Palace Tournament, won, but then immediately gave up the title of Emperor without any explanation. She does have an interest in rare items though. Even in the game, her appearance seems intricate and feisty. Her skin is painted in frothy white snow, she has fierce amethyst eyes, and her lips are a delicate scarlet. A velvet purple suit belies her figure, dazzled with trinkets and necklaces. In a random character model competition, Azo (she prefers people to call her that) won an extension of her appearance, a pair of dazzling feathered wings, similar to Balmung's.

Personality
Azo is a fiery player of the World, finding the means to instigate player wars and stealing off those that are killed in it. Manipulative, cunning, and slightly insane, Azo feeds off of anger and tries to make benefit out of it, something that has proven itself to be a defense mechanism. She has shown signs of sociopathy and enjoys the occasional PK or two- whenever she can lead an unaware newbie astray. Still, she avoids the subject of real life, thus adding an element of mystery to this strange fire of a woman.

Background
At age eight, Ellie Garland burned a classroom down. A more careful diagnosis of her radical behavior insisted she suffered from sociopathy. Ellie's case was settled out of court through payments to pay for the damages and the expulsion of Ellie from the school, much to the dismay of her parents. Age ten, Ellie underwent a phase of aspiring to become a barber. Her mother's hair was cut while she was sleeping. Now, at age sixteen, she remains homeschooled and strictly bound to books and her prison of a house, deemed unfit for society. To quell her incessant nags of boredom? What better then The World?

Azo isn't one for battles, nor for trades or for quests. She finds herself much more infatuated with manipulating players to fight each other and relieving them of items lost when PKed, as well as toying with numerous AI monsters until she finds herself surrounded, a situation she deems necessary for one of her powerful Shadow Warlock spells. Every now and again she deals with her frustrations by PKing, but other than that its just a usual day of instigation and manipulation.

Personality: Syra is confident, but without being cocky. He never second-guesses himself, and makes it a priority to be informed and to be right. He seems to have a sadistic sense of humor at times. He can be just as manipulative as the next person. He's always cool and calm, making it almost impossible to put pressure on him, in or out of battle. It also seems like he's always one step ahead...

Bio:

Real Life: Syra is the son of the head of the CC Corporation.His father introduced him to the game since Syra was notorious for beating games, he decided his son could play this. Syra started the game and was magnificent. Took time to get used to, but he caught the hang of it becoming Ceon, an Adept Rouge. It was soon that Syra was made a Administrater by his father and asked to find out the problem with the world.

Game Life: Ceon was great. Starting off, he didn't have many friends. Ceon just adventured around the world like every other player. Nothing really special happened until he fought against three skilled PKs. It was by luck that he defeated each one obtaining three rare weapon for each of his forms, the Crimson Daggers, Crimson Blade, and Crimson Gun. After that he became known as Ceon of the Red Sea. He soon became a legend. Everyone wanted to be him and everyone knew about him. Ceon has been going strong and doesn't plan on stopping until he solves the mystery of the problem with the world, so he can enjoy the world again.

Appearence: Sleif appears in a long black cloak that covers his entire body. Only when in battle does anybody, who live, see what he looks like. From rare accounts, he appears to have 'piercing red eyes and long pure silver hair. He also wears a suit of armor which for some reason does not slow down his movement, in the slightest.

Personality: People have reported that Sleif is a silent character who rarely speaks unless deemed absolutely necessary. When provoked will attack without warning until the 'intruder' is defeated.

Bio: Many things, like everything else about Sleif, is a mystery. Many players have said that he appeared one day with such high stats without much commotion. Since then players have reported that he may have gained this stats illegally, but no reply has yet been given.
There are some theories, with players, that Sleif may be one of the rare Independent A.I Characters, that were once present in the early developments of 'The World', but these accusations have yet to be explained.

His most distinct feature are the wings on his character he got for completing the "Dragon Kings Wrath!" event there is no skin in between the wings instead there is a energy that looks as if they where on fire everything else on them is black. He wears silver heavy armor around his chest and black light armor around his arms. On his legs he has heavy shin guards and light armor the same color as the armor on his arms.

Personality: While nice Ryuu does have anger issues and has a tendency to slap people upside there heads when they act like idiots or pig heads. He has issues with immodestly designed female characters.

Bio: Ryuu is what his parent call a perfect child in there eye's as he gets all A's and it drives him nuts, he hates it because he always has to study do to his crazy freak of mother. She tells him to study all the time and doesn't let him have any time to be with his friends, he considers his father a hero for he gave him the World R:2 for his 15 Birthday. Ryuu tries to play it as often as possible, he has been able to play it a lot more due to the death of his mother due to a stress related heart attack. Online He is known as bankai a decently known player due to him being a Ex-Arena Emperor and due to him beating a event by himself the "Dragon Kings Wrath!" Quest was a quest similar to The One Sin as it was a one of a kind event that after he beat it was over. His character was given The Wings of the Slain Dragon, and a series of unique rare weapons and armor.The Tyrant Claw, Tyrant Spine , and Tyrant Fang where the weapons he gained while he got the Tyrant Scales armor and Royal Crest Accessory.

What do you do if your life seems as one big joke and you're the punch line? What if for years you been treated like an outcast and all your dreams where considered meaningless just like your fate? This was the life of Naomi Yoshida.

When normal kids graduate from high school, their parents usually buy them a car or give them tution to college. Not Naomi's. Her father was a programer at a big game company and as her graduation gift, she got "The World".

Naomi's father plopped the box into her hands. Examining it she thought, another useless piece of junk that will sit next to my laptop along with the other pc games my father expected me to install. The laptop was mainly used for her addiction to hardcore american metal, she once planned to travel to the United States just to attend a concert, something her parents would never allow.

However weeks later, after a bug had misteriously wiped her hard drive clean of her music, she decided to install something that would take her mind off of her loss. "The World" was on top of her pile of games, so it was the lucky installment.

Soon along with her music, "The World" was her "out" from all the stress that she encountered. Eventually she became a PKer. She loved the faces of the noobs that fell victim to her. Her user name Cho means butterfly. To the rest of The World she is known as the black butterfly pker. Still to her, she believes theres more out there and more to her character than meets the eye.

Lakria is often seen as a happy-go-lucky character. People are however, oblivious to the fact that she is actually a boy in real life, mainly due to the fact that he doesn't not want to be seen differently in the World. Lakria is often seen as a moe-type character. In battle, Lakria, however goes in a type of berserk mode. Her strength is her main offense taking advantage of the Heavy Blades having the highest attack power out of all the classes.

Sato Hotei is a Japanese-American living in California. He was introduced to the game by his psychologist that he often attended to due to the fact that he had social problems and had extreme depression. With the help of the World, Sato became much more social in life. The World had helped him exert himself much more than ever. Within a few weeks, Sato Hotei went from a shy kid in his class, to a confident friendly social person. The World had helped him realize that life must be treasured and not spent weeping over depressing thoughts. It helped him realized that there was so much to life that had yet to be discovered. He realized that life was indeed, beautiful.

Lakria is a Heavy Blade user in the hopes of following the footsteps of BlackRose, Mimiru, and Sanjuro, some legendary user of the World. Playing almost a year and a half ago, Lakria has gone through a journey. Her character was almost deleted due to the fact that she had been modified with the Cerulean Knights after her as if she had been Helba. Starting a mysterious persona, she became a Player Killer. She would kill Players for no particular reason. After her capture by some of the C.C. Corporation, she managed to breach an agreement to avoid deletion and anymore trouble that she could get herself into. She would have to give up the days of killing innocent players and become a Player Killer Killer. What that meant was that she would have to kill those who killed other users and players in the World. Although she accepted it, she was under no contract to the C.C. Corporation, meaning she wasn't required to do it as a job, rather as an obligation made to avoid future trouble. As a result, she adopted a new alter-ego and made herself a more happy-go-lucky player often helping players, whether new or old. What did this mean for Sato in real life? He had passed the test and that he was mentally ready for the real world and social life. He was now relieved of his depression.

When not play 'The World' Zane is a very quiet person who likes to keep to himself. He rarely talks to people other than his close friends and family. To go with his quiet demeanor, Zane tends to be calm no matter what the situation is. A negative side of Zane is that he is rarely interested in anything. He sees most of the events that occur in the real world as boring. Of course, 'The World' was Zane's cure for the unending boredom of real life.

To the surprise of his friends, specifically Takuya, Zane's personality is a bit different online. Unlike in the real world, Zane is very outgoing and social in 'The World.' His social manner is evident in his membership of the guild "Moon Tree." He also steps in to help the usual lost noob or innocent player being attack by a PK. Although, Zane does like to keep to himself occaisionally. These moments usually translate into lone trips into random areas in search of rare items.

Zane spent most of his youth in the Kyoto region of Japan. His family moved to Tokyo when he was 13 due to his dad getting a better job. Unlike most parents, his were quite relaxed with grades and such, which didn't mean much since he was already smart in school. This lead to him having much free time to do as he pleased. One day his Uncle, an Admin in 'The World', asked Zane if he wanted a part time job as an undercover Admin. (This was before 'The World R:2.') He happily accepted the job and worked for CC Corp until 'The World R:2' was released. During his time as an Admin Zane learned much about 'The World.' He also gained a love of hunting for rare items and socializing with other players. When CC Corp decided to shut down the servers of the original game in favor of 'The World R:2' Zane declined another offer to be an Admin. At this point, he wanted to actually play the game instead of look over its workings.

After playing 'The World R:2' for a few months he introduced it to a close friend of his, Takuya Kinomoto. He had tried introducing him to the original, but never really got around to it. After just a day of helping Takuya, he noticed his friend took an immediate interest in the game as a whole. At that point, he knew Takuya would enjoy his adventurers in 'The World R:2'

Now, Zane is 20 years old and is attending Tokyo University. He still plays 'The World R:2' for fun and to relieve stress. His recent promotion to the leader of 4th Division of the guild Moon Tree has also created an increase of his play time.

Zeitx is an Adept Rogue, a class once thought of as pointless or weak. His choice of job combinations was also out of the ordinary: Flick Reaper + Macabre Dancer. Despite the odd combo, Zeitx proved to be a powerful character as he leveled. Zane's past love of seeking rare items helped imporve Zeitx in level, skill, and equipment. Zeitx has also gained the nickname "Master of the Four Winds" due to his great skill with air magic when using fans. His name has also spread to all the pks in 'The World.' He is usually targeted due to his wealth of rare items or his high ranking in Moon Tree. Although, he has never been defeated by a pk [yet.]

Being a member of Moon Tree(and the 4th division leader) naturally makes Zane against pks. He hates how they ruin the atmosphere in 'The World' for all players, especially new players. With the reformation of Moon Tree, each of the 7 Divisions was given a specific duty or specialty. Zeitx's Division, 4th, was given the task of helping suppress the number of PKs in 'The World.' The main method his Division uses is to fight back as PKKs.

Finally, other than being a member of Moon Tree, Zane enjoys being a Rare Hunter. He finds much fun in going into random dungeons in search of rare items. Most of these items decorate his room within Moon Tree's @home. Another reason he enjoys being a Rare Hunter is that he often makes new friends while traversing random areas. Other than that, Zane is your normal everday player just wanting to relieve the boredom of reality.

Personality: Kind and smart in school. Takuya loses his temper quick. If his friends are in danger, he won't hesitate to step in. He also tends to get lonely. Even though he is quite popular, Takuya still feels lonely at times.

Bio:

Offline: When he was 16 yrs old, Zane introduced "The World" to Takuya as a way to "escape" the stresses of reality. Now a senior in high school, he still plays the game to get away from his parents annoying him and to release his anger. Also, it is a major distraction for him. Before he played, Takuya had trouble dealing with his classmates. He would always be too shy to talk to the girls in his class. After playing "The World" for a few months, his attitude changed and he was able to enjoy high school and become popular with his classmates. Still not able to deal with the aftermath of false hope, Takuya loses his temper. Resulting in having to log in to calm down.

Online: When he first logged in, ZER0, with the help of Zane's character Zeitx, was hooked and started playing everyday. As a way to release his anger, ZER0 received the bounty hunter pass and started PKKing. When he reached level 35, ZER0 started the guild "Moment's Haven." This guild is for the players who on some days, can't handle the stress of reality and want to get away from it all. The true purpose of this guild is for ZER0 to have a place all to himself where no one can bother him. As a result, no one has joined so far. When he goes on hunts for a PKer, he will ride his steam bike. Because of his kind and caring nature, he gets along with almost everyone in the game.

Personality:Adam is quiet, keeping to himself mostly. He dislikes attention, even when he tries to help out a few people, vanishing into the shadows after he takes part in an event. He carries a sad, sympathetic sort of look, rarely showing his true emotions. When one sees the look behind his hood, one will either smile at its warmth, or be flooded in guilt at his sadness. He leads an lone existance, trying not to show much emotion, hiding them behind his hood. However, when he gets angry, it is with a passionate, powerful anger that can lead him to unleash what he knows he doesn't want. He is confused most of the time, trying to be as simple in his living as possible, but sometimes he feels this strange, ethereal warmth inside, and he lets it guide him, helping out before hastily retreating back into the shadows.
Bio: Adam joined as Fenix about two weeks after the original release of the world. He was originally was a wavemaster, but remade his character later. He didn't really crawl along dungeons hoarding xp, much rather just riding along on his steamcycle, laying against a tree, playing chess with the AI or whomever happens to walk along. He was offered the job of system admin after having of pointed out several major glitches and flaws to another admin when he was sitting in a virtual cafe, checking his in game email. He rarely leaves the PK fields at the moment, wary of any signs of AIDA or any one particular PK that might have something to do with this.
