The dark soldier could possibly be like kind of like a sepheroth to MX, except he is not as strong willed and determined as CLoud thus he gives in to the dark side of himself. When he gives in, DS could possibly "Take over" MX's body and forces him to use his power for evil.

Thus the true villan isn't MX, its the DS

I think it's because so little is know about the DS that people decide that there must be more than he's just an apprentice and nothing more.

If you're referring to FF7, then don't. Nomura had no part in the story. All he did was design the characters.

Xehanort only went against his master because AtW refused to continue the experiments on the darkness in people's heart.

And this isn't Star Wars, so don't use that as an example.

Whose to say that at the end MX realizes his mistake but it turns out DS had other plans..
