I decided to post this here for people who are too lazy to go to fanfiction.net and read it....soo....I just copy and pasted it...I just put some lines and done..
--------------------
I honestly have no idea how this will turn out. I mean, it’s my first real fanfic where I actually try and I'm alone other than having a couple people read it over before I post it. I usually help with ideas, proof reading, etc...but never my own.

I know Soriku is a popular pairing, but if I get more than 20 flames that consist of "Sora and Riku aren't gay, you suck." or rants about how Sora OBVIOUSLY loves Kairi. I'll just say this: Sora has a strong bonded relationship with both Riku and Kairi. It can end up either way if you look at it close enough. Its fanfic writers' job to show their opinion on the character and push said character into the direction we believe is right.

At least that's what I think. But who gives a damn about a 16 year old's opinion?

But seriously, I want opinions and good criticism. Please.

And obviously, I don't own any part of Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy or anything else I make a reference to which I will put a star to say what it is.

Now, I present to thee, the fanfiction.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Chapter 1: Promise
A spiky haired brunette awoke on his deck, which looked over into a beautiful oceanic view of the islands where he lived. He yawned, breathed in the salty ocean air and stretched his arms over his head, exposing some pale skin underneath his plain sky blue t-shirt he wore.
It was just a normal day. Except, the day felt a bit more...different to him. He wasn't sure why, but he felt something would happen today. The boy didn't want to think about it that much. He thought it would ruin it. Besides, he liked surprises.
Just as he began wondering how and why he ended up on his deck, a voice cooly(1) said in the boy's ear, "Have you been sleepwalking, Sora?"
Sora responded to this with a yelp as he jumped up in the air, and with a thud, landed on his deck.
Well...almost all surprises.(2)
The brunette rubbed the back of his head where it hit a post. He just grinned away the pain with a dazzling smile up to the dark silhouette of the person, due the sun directly over head.
The figure chuckled lightly at the smaller boy's childish behavior and helped him back up. Once Sora got back on his feet and dusted himself off, he asked with a confused look on his face, "How'd you get in my house, Riku?"
Riku leaned on the door that lead into Sora's room and said, "Your mom let me right in. I swear, the woman treats me like I'm her own son."
"But you practically are, Riku," Sora said looking up to Riku. The boy was now in a better light and Sora could see his features clearly. He had more of a build than Sora's feminine body and he was also around five inches taller than Sora. Well, two if you counted Sora's spikes that went in every direction. Riku was a year older than Sora but they were still in the same grade because Riku's overprotective mom was a bit worried kids would pick on him because of his hair.(3) Unlike normal kids on the islands, he had shining silver hair that had a blue tint almost as if it reflected the sky. His hair was longer than usual guys would want it since it touched all the way to his back, and his bangs mostly hung in front of one of his eyes like a curtain of silver.
Riku sighed, flicked away a stray strand of hair from his other eye and said, "Don't you have that date with Kairi in...," Riku paused and looked at his wristwatch, "Oh, I'd say 10 minutes?"
"WHAT?! CRAP!!" Sora yelled and sped into his room. Riku smirked and followed the younger boy inside. Sora began rummaging through his closet, underneath and around his bed, dressers, and anywhere else clothes would reside. Everywhere he looked it seemed that it was either an outfit that he only had a peice of and the other was in laundry, was too dirty to wear in public, or too bad looking on him anyway. As he madly ran from pile to pile, he was mumbling to himself things in almost a histeric fashion. The boy was saying things like "This was so important to Kairi!" and "She's gonna kill me!".
Riku held back a laugh at Sora's crazed state and called over to the boy, "Sora.."
"Whaaaat?" Sora yelled back peeking his head from a pile of clothes he was in. He looked exhausted.
The silver haired boy looked at the other boy and smirked, "Hm...what was it I was going to say?" He teasingly looked up at the ceiling and stroked his chin. Sora was starting to break.
"RIKU!" Sora said in disbelief, "I DON'T HAVE TIME! Tell me! I'm gonna be late!!" The brunette looked as if he were about to burst into tears. The other boy sighed and pointed to Sora's bedroom door, where an outfit was hanging on the hook on a hanger, with Sora's crown necklace hanging down on it.
"I put that together while you were asleep. I made a mess of your room while doing it, but it can be picked up later," Sora nodded while admiring the clothes, "Oh, and I called Kairi and told her you were still asleep when I was coming over to your house."
"Thank you so much!!" Sora exclaimed happily as he ran into Riku and hugged him tightly before running off to change. Riku was stunned for a moment, but Sora didn't notice it as he took the outfit off the door. The other boy turned around after getting back to his senses, turned around and left the room to return to the deck.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Riku stood outside of Sora's room to give the boy privacy while he could think. The gentle summer breeze blew through his silver hair as he laid his elbow on the post and rested his chin in his palm. Thoughts went through his head over and over. Thinking of how him and Sora have been friends since they were in preschool. They knew just about every single thing about each other, and even though people think they're complete opposites, him and Sora seemed to be inseparable.

But Riku saw Sora as more than just a friend. Not just as a best-friend or a brother.

More.

Riku loved Sora. He didn't really give a damn what society thought of gay people. Why should he care? They probably have never seen Sora before, anyway. Everything about Sora made Riku smile, from the boy's deep blue eyes, his adorable smile, the boy's attitude towards life...

Everything.

The problem was that he could never tell Sora. Ever. He wasn't scared of rejection itself, only Sora's. If Sora stopped talking to him completely, it'd kill him. And then there was Kairi. Sora and Kairi have been dating for the past whatever. He didn't hate Kairi. He was jealous, of course, but she was his friend and she still made Sora happy. So, Riku would be happy for them and support them. No matter what.

Then he thought of the hug Sora gave him less than ten minutes ago. He still felt as if the arms were still there around him. The hug was only a minute long but it felt like an hour to Riku. The silver haired boy sighed before his thoughts were suddenly interrupted by sounds of the door being opened and steps on the wooden floor.

"Riku?" a voice said to him.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Meanwhile in Sora's room, the boy heard the click of his door shutting and he pulled the hanger down from the hook. He didn't know why Riku wanted to leave, but Sora needed to get dressed quickly so he didn't give it that much thought. He saw the outfit Riku picked out but noticed something strange...They weren't his. 'Riku must have bought them,' Sora thought to himself.
He knew Riku's family had more money than his own, but he never really knew why the older boy liked buying things for Sora. Sure, they were useful, but he really didn't know how to thank him. "I'll figure it out later, I guess," Sora quietly said to himself and set the clothes on his bed. Riku knew his favorite color was black. Usually people looked at Sora and would figure it was blue, but Sora loved the black for some reason. The boy wasn't even sure why himself.
He looked in the mirror and shook his head around, making his hair more messy, but out of his eyes. He took off his shirt quickly and replaced it with the newer black one that was loose, but still fit his figure perfectly. Sora took the jacket that was lying on his bed.
It was expensive. Sora could tell it was much more expensive than what he usually paid when he went to the store. He was surprised that the jeans Riku got fit his figure perfectly and guessed that Riku got them custom made.(4) He sighed, put the jacket on, and started thinking more and more as he got ready and shoved some of the other piles of clothes back into his closet.
Sora and Kairi usually just hang out and play video games together or watch movies. The most they do is hold hands. They mostly only say their dating so people will get off their backs saying they make such a good couple.
It really pissed Sora off.
He was in love with Riku, not Kairi.
She was his best-friend, nothing more. Sora realized he wasn't attracted to her at all when Kairi tried kissing him goodnight after the first date both their parents pushed them into months and months ago. He turned his face away and told her he couldn't do it. Kairi didn't take it hard at all, thankfully.
If only he would be able to tell Riku the things he told Kairi. He never could find the courage and cursed himself everyday for being such a coward to the one he loves.
Sora looked in the mirror as he clasped on the necklace behind his back. He was amazed at how good he looked in the outfit. Riku seriously put thought into the outfit, and Sora tried thinking of ways to repay Riku for it as he put on his sneakers, and walked out to the deck.
When he opened the door, he saw Riku looking out into the ocean, letting the wind blow through his hair. One word went through his mind and echoed.
Beautiful.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Riku turned around to see Sora all dressed in his black shirt with a white jacket on top that only had sleeves that stopped right after his t-shirt sleeves did. Sora also had a pair of baggy, dark blue jeans that were held up by a belt that had his wallet chain attached to his back pocket. This all was topped off by the shining crown necklace that hung from his neck.(5)

He felt his face get even more red than it was.

"Are you okay?" Sora asked, "You look like you're getting a fever."

"I'm fine," Riku said, shaking off his thoughts. He knew it would look good on Sora but...damn.

"You sure?" Sora put his hand underneath Riku's bangs to get to the forehead, and didn't notice Riku got even more red, "You're not that warm, weird," Sora thought outloud and then gasped dramatically, "Maybe you're getting some kind of new sickness that's deadly!..."

"Sora..."

The brunette continued anyway, "And you're gonna die in three weeks!..."

"Sora!"

"And doctors wont know what to do! Riku! You can't die!" Sora had a face of sadness and shock on his face as he carried on.

"SORA!!" Riku yelled.

"Yes?" Sora replied.

Riku said assuredly, "I'm fine. I promise."

How was it? o.o Leave reviews! Please?

I really want to thank AdventureAddict (friend at school who goes to fanfiction.net) for reading over this for me even though I know she doesn't really know much about KH or video games at all...Poor Addict. Also, she doesn't like shonen-ai that much either. She isn't a homophobe, which I've overly grateful for, but she's not a fan of it like I am. Ah well.

When she read over what I believe was my 5th rewrite of this story, she read to the part where Riku was thinking and she just looked at me and said 'well that was quick'. I laughed. Reason: It's taking her characters in her fanfic more than 10 chapters to admit their undying love for each other... XP

Also, I'd like to thank everybody else who read through it for me. Your support was great.

While I was writing this, I for some reason, kept saying 'desu' as I was typing it at school...x.x'' Don't know why. -type!- -type!- -type!- Desu! Desu! Desu!

Yes, people stared at me...Like I care.

Random notes:

(1) When I was writing this at school which has spell check, it was telling me that cooly was spelled with 2 L's. But it looked really silly on the screen. I checked with multiple people and they said it was one. I was really getting confused...and then a chibi of L from Death Note popped in my head and kept chanting "Ichi-desu!" I thought it was cute as hell.
Buuut later on, I found out that it actually is 2. ._. Damn you spell check.

(2) When I gave this to Addict to read through she put a little comment over it "Ooh. Kairi pulled a funny!" I found it kinda funny.

(3) I wasn't sure if I should of kept this line in there...but it'd make sense I suppose. I could just imagine little Riku being made fun of because of his hair. .. So sad...then he gets pissed and bits their heads off. Yaaay!

(4) After knowing a person for more than 13 years, and being in love with them for I guess about 5, I'd think Riku knows what Sora's looks like and can guess his size.

(5) I just thought of the outfit off the top of my head. I'm not into fashion, I don't really care much for fashion. I just thought it'd look good on him. Baggy in my opinion better. Leather is good and all...if you're a model and over 20. Sora's 16. I'm thinking of what a normal 16 year old would wear.

Anywho...-inhales-
REVIEW NOW!! IT ISN'T THAT HARD TO TYPE AND CLICK IS IT?! YEAH THAT'S WHAT I THOUGHT!!

Even though nobody bothered to post, I post up my 2nd chapter.
--------------------------------

Author's note:

I’m amazed at how well chapter one went. All your feedback on it was just…wow. I’m so thankful.

Also, I found out after I posted the first chapter that Addict’s dad has had me on author alert and stuff…so….hi Addict’s dad! Please don’t hate me for writing shonen-ai! x.x’’’’’

Anyway. I apologize for not really working on it for a while...I've been stuck on the beginning and how to make it flow correctly. Its hard. T-T And also, its amazingly short. Only 3 pages printed out from word...including my rants...crap. Ah well.

Okami consumes my life. I love the game and I finished it. The game's ending brought tears to my eyes...its so beautiful. Even the ending song is just...breathtaking. bows to creators for creating something so great

If you have a PS2 lying around (which you probably do) play Okami immediately.

Finals didn't help either with my time...Plus I just got Loveless and Absolute Boyfriend, Nana (I'm a sap for romance stuff), and then I got Black Cat and Death Note. XD I'm so weird. I still have to read them...but the shoujo is helping me get more...knowing of romance I guess.

I want the shirt that says 'I learned everything about life from shoujo'. I love Megatokyo's store. XD

Disclaimer: I don’t own any part of Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy, or any other references I refer to when referencing is due. So you may not sue! Oh yeah, a rhyme. I’m so cool. X3

Oh, also, much love to my friends who read it over for me. Mura, Duo, Onee-chan, Thes, sephy, Time especially for the help on Kairi's outfit... and everyone else...

Crowd: GET ON WITH IT!!!

Okay, okay...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The two teens entered Taiyochi (1), a small town that was a walking distance from Sora's neighborhood. As they walked, Sora chatted happily with Riku, who nodded and smiled to show he was listening to Sora's stories. They returned waves to people that recognized them and continued onward to the café where Sora's date was.
They rounded the corner and quickly spotted a ruby red haired girl with bangs cut almost like daggers in front of her blue eyes, emotionlessly looking up at the sky, hands behind her back in a relaxed fashion. She was holding a purse with a long strap in her hands making it lay on the ground limply. Then, a stray black cat walked up to the bag, sniffed it, and looked up and meowed, making the girl snap out of her trance-like stare.
The girl picked up the cat and hugged it gently as if it was an infant. The cat meowed cutely in response. As she was petting its slightly dirty fur, she noticed the boys waving to her and put the cat back down on the ground gently. As it scurried back into an alleyway, she ran up to the boys.
"Hey Kairi," Sora grinned, resting his hands behind his head. He noticed Kairi was wearing an outfit that looked new; it was started by a dark pink tank top that seemed to hug onto Kairi's form, and was beautifully designed with black lines and swirls that wrapped around the shirt. Amongst the strange design, were a few cherry blossoms planted around the shirt, but, at the same time, seemed as if they were dancing in the wind. Along with the tank top, came a plain black skirt that cut off just a couple inches above her knees held up by a slender, white belt. The mixture of the two flowed so well, and nobody but Sora knew that she really didn't like wearing it. (2)
"Nice outfit," he added with a fake smile. Sora figured her parents wanted her to look nice for yet another "date", so he might as well comment it to make it seem like they're actually dating to people passing by, their friends, family, and anyone else who gave a damn.
Because, right now, the last thing he really needed was drama.
Kairi smiled at Sora's comment and swung her purse strap back on her shoulder. She looked at Riku, then she teasingly said, "I didn't know Sora needed an escort to go to the café," Riku looked away for a moment trying not to show embarrassment.
"He just wanted to make sure I got here," Sora shrugged, "It isn't that big of a deal."
"I'm gonna head home," Riku said looking back at them, "My little brother is going to blow the house up again if I don't get back soon, anyway. See you two later," he said after turning around on his feet and dashed into a shortcut through an alley.
And before Sora could say anything, he was gone.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sora laid his chin lazily on the café table with his eyes shut tight, but somehow still calm. He was thinking about something that made him frown and rub the back of his head in frustration.

It was giving him a headache.

Across from him, Kairi crossed her legs casually as she took a sip from her strawberry milkshake. These things really bored her. It wasn’t a date. She wanted to be home playing video games or something. Then, she noticed her friend in his saddened, confused state. She set her glass down and leaned across the table to be five inches from Sora’s face.

“You still haven’t told him, have you?” she said in a soft voice, but loud enough for only him to still hear over the clammer of the café.

Sora didn’t reply.

Kairi sat back in her chair and said, “Sora, you really need to tell him we aren't really dating," she said, thankful that the few people in the café were too busy to care, "Oh and another thing. My parents want you and your parents over for dinner tomorrow.”

Sora replied with nothing but a groan. He hated her parents. They were one of the richest families in all of Destiny Islands. Since her father was the mayor of Tayochi, they were so stuck up nobody but Sora, Kairi, and Riku noticed it. Everybody else was too busy kissing their asses to notice anything. Of course, Kairi had to pretend to actually enjoy living with them.

Sure, they were nice to Sora, but he really honest-to-god did not want to marry Kairi, be forced to make her bear his children, watch them inherit the fortune after he dies…

He was getting a headache again.

“I swear they’re already planning the wedding,” Kairi said looking up at the ceiling, tired. She was a victim of her parent's wrath, as well.

Sora sighed and began to think, ‘Why can’t we live peaceful lives? We’re only 16! I don’t wanna think of marriage or kids or how much money I’ll have! I just wanna live my life.’

‘C’mon, do you think it’d be that easy?’ another part of his conscious said in his mind.

Sora sighed at his thoughts and looked up at Kairi, “When do I gotta be there?”

Kairi smiled, happy her friend was actually talking again, and said, “Five, sharp,” she paused and then noticed Sora’s head droop back down, “You wanna get out of here?”

“Please.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
notes:
(1) I got the name for the town from the Japanese word taiyou (sun) and machi (town)...combined 'em a bit...and poof. Taiyochi. I hope I didn't make up some bad word though... ..'' I'm still learning Japanese so forgive me if I have.
(2) I give much thanks to my friend Time who help me out with this. I'm really bad at describing clothes designs. In real life I mostly go like "She had some swirly stuff ya know that went like woooo!! -hand gestures-" Ehe...and it ended up being the biggest damn paragraph in the whole chapter thanks to him. Whoops.
Other stuff:
In my mind, Destiny Islands is split up into 6 regions, Sora and Riku live on the biggest island, and the one they played on as kids and go run around on is the smallest. It's sorta like Hawaii. Thought I'd add that...
~~~
Anyway...This chapter was really hard...and yet so freaking short. I feel really wiped out anyway...The flow was hard and I needed help for a couple things...It was hard for me to concentrate, too. And I've rewritten the first couple 5 paragraphs so many times and the last part was kinda weird but still needed...plus finals was a week ago, Okami, Zelda, I still have to get to playing FFXII and 15 other games I have stashed away. And that isn't exaggeration. I have 15+ games I need to finish still. XD Either I'm stuck or I haven't even really tried.

But I did it. Somethings helped me like the song Reset by Ayaka Hirahara. It pumps me up! Like an energy drink! If any of you know where I can get translations for it, tell me!

Another boost was Miyavi's kickass music. He's not only pretty, he has amazing talent especially for his age. He's only 25. Youtube him. Now.

I still don't know how long I'm gonna make this fanfic and drag it out...or maybe some sequels? o.o I have feeling this is gonna be real short. Maybe, maybe not. I have the whole story planned out on the middle, and end...but in-between I can have some other stuff. Fillers. Yey.

I actually have a side that I may make either into a filler, or just a oneshot separate thing...I shall call it Itoshii hito! How cliché! D

On another note it was my birthday on the fifteenth of January. I'm now a 16 year old. D=

...That means you missed it...

WHERE'S MY PRESENTS BITCHES?!! Review, damn you!! That can be a present!! -attacks audience with a sword-

I love that fact too. I really do. But she still likes being pretty, just not in skirts and stuff...I dunno. I find jeans more comfortable because I can sit cross legged in my chair and not worry about it ripping.

For the next chapter, I am deeply in need for some proof readers...
I prefer if the person who volunteers is a little more...literate. <<''' Not just 'oh a comma should go there' and be done with it. Be in depth, help me through descriptions. I need it.

XD I just decided it since people are obviously too lazy to go to 2 sites...so I have both up...I may post it up on other forums if i ever get around to joining some....

PS

I hate homophobes.
And people who say they aren't homophobes, say they have nothing against gays, and then when something bad happens or someone's stupid they say 'That's gay' or 'you're gay you fag!' <<
