I decided to post this here for people who are too lazy to go to fanfiction.net and read it....soo....I just copy and pasted it...I just put some lines and done..
--------------------
I honestly have no idea how this will turn out. I mean, it’s my first real fanfic where I actually try and I'm alone other than having a couple people read it over before I post it. I usually help with ideas, proof reading, etc...but never my own.
I know Soriku is a popular pairing, but if I get more than 20 flames that consist of "Sora and Riku aren't gay, you suck." or rants about how Sora OBVIOUSLY loves Kairi. I'll just say this: Sora has a strong bonded relationship with both Riku and Kairi. It can end up either way if you look at it close enough. Its fanfic writers' job to show their opinion on the character and push said character into the direction we believe is right.
At least that's what I think. But who gives a damn about a 16 year old's opinion?
But seriously, I want opinions and good criticism. Please.
And obviously, I don't own any part of Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy or anything else I make a reference to which I will put a star to say what it is.
Now, I present to thee, the fanfiction.

Chapter 1: Promise
A spiky haired brunette awoke on his deck, which looked over into a beautiful oceanic view of the islands where he lived. He yawned, breathed in the salty ocean air and stretched his arms over his head, exposing some pale skin underneath his plain sky blue t-shirt he wore.
It was just a normal day. Except, the day felt a bit more...different to him. He wasn't sure why, but he felt something would happen today. The boy didn't want to think about it that much. He thought it would ruin it. Besides, he liked surprises.
Just as he began wondering how and why he ended up on his deck, a voice cooly(1) said in the boy's ear, "Have you been sleepwalking, Sora?"
Sora responded to this with a yelp as he jumped up in the air, and with a thud, landed on his deck.
Well...almost all surprises.(2)
The brunette rubbed the back of his head where it hit a post. He just grinned away the pain with a dazzling smile up to the dark silhouette of the person, due the sun directly over head.
The figure chuckled lightly at the smaller boy's childish behavior and helped him back up. Once Sora got back on his feet and dusted himself off, he asked with a confused look on his face, "How'd you get in my house, Riku?"
Riku leaned on the door that lead into Sora's room and said, "Your mom let me right in. I swear, the woman treats me like I'm her own son."
"But you practically are, Riku," Sora said looking up to Riku. The boy was now in a better light and Sora could see his features clearly. He had more of a build than Sora's feminine body and he was also around five inches taller than Sora. Well, two if you counted Sora's spikes that went in every direction. Riku was a year older than Sora but they were still in the same grade because Riku's overprotective mom was a bit worried kids would pick on him because of his hair.(3) Unlike normal kids on the islands, he had shining silver hair that had a blue tint almost as if it reflected the sky. His hair was longer than usual guys would want it since it touched all the way to his back, and his bangs mostly hung in front of one of his eyes like a curtain of silver.
Riku sighed, flicked away a stray strand of hair from his other eye and said, "Don't you have that date with Kairi in...," Riku paused and looked at his wristwatch, "Oh, I'd say 10 minutes?"
"WHAT?! CRAP!!" Sora yelled and sped into his room. Riku smirked and followed the younger boy inside. Sora began rummaging through his closet, underneath and around his bed, dressers, and anywhere else clothes would reside. Everywhere he looked it seemed that it was either an outfit that he only had a peice of and the other was in laundry, was too dirty to wear in public, or too bad looking on him anyway. As he madly ran from pile to pile, he was mumbling to himself things in almost a histeric fashion. The boy was saying things like "This was so important to Kairi!" and "She's gonna kill me!".
Riku held back a laugh at Sora's crazed state and called over to the boy, "Sora.."
"Whaaaat?" Sora yelled back peeking his head from a pile of clothes he was in. He looked exhausted.
The silver haired boy looked at the other boy and smirked, "Hm...what was it I was going to say?" He teasingly looked up at the ceiling and stroked his chin. Sora was starting to break.
"RIKU!" Sora said in disbelief, "I DON'T HAVE TIME! Tell me! I'm gonna be late!!" The brunette looked as if he were about to burst into tears. The other boy sighed and pointed to Sora's bedroom door, where an outfit was hanging on the hook on a hanger, with Sora's crown necklace hanging down on it.
"I put that together while you were asleep. I made a mess of your room while doing it, but it can be picked up later," Sora nodded while admiring the clothes, "Oh, and I called Kairi and told her you were still asleep when I was coming over to your house."
"Thank you so much!!" Sora exclaimed happily as he ran into Riku and hugged him tightly before running off to change. Riku was stunned for a moment, but Sora didn't notice it as he took the outfit off the door. The other boy turned around after getting back to his senses, turned around and left the room to return to the deck.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Riku stood outside of Sora's room to give the boy privacy while he could think. The gentle summer breeze blew through his silver hair as he laid his elbow on the post and rested his chin in his palm. Thoughts went through his head over and over. Thinking of how him and Sora have been friends since they were in preschool. They knew just about every single thing about each other, and even though people think they're complete opposites, him and Sora seemed to be inseparable.
But Riku saw Sora as more than just a friend. Not just as a best-friend or a brother.
More.
Riku loved Sora. He didn't really give a damn what society thought of gay people. Why should he care? They probably have never seen Sora before, anyway. Everything about Sora made Riku smile, from the boy's deep blue eyes, his adorable smile, the boy's attitude towards life...
Everything.
The problem was that he could never tell Sora. Ever. He wasn't scared of rejection itself, only Sora's. If Sora stopped talking to him completely, it'd kill him. And then there was Kairi. Sora and Kairi have been dating for the past whatever. He didn't hate Kairi. He was jealous, of course, but she was his friend and she still made Sora happy. So, Riku would be happy for them and support them. No matter what.
Then he thought of the hug Sora gave him less than ten minutes ago. He still felt as if the arms were still there around him. The hug was only a minute long but it felt like an hour to Riku. The silver haired boy sighed before his thoughts were suddenly interrupted by sounds of the door being opened and steps on the wooden floor.
"Riku?" a voice said to him.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Meanwhile in Sora's room, the boy heard the click of his door shutting and he pulled the hanger down from the hook. He didn't know why Riku wanted to leave, but Sora needed to get dressed quickly so he didn't give it that much thought. He saw the outfit Riku picked out but noticed something strange...They weren't his. 'Riku must have bought them,' Sora thought to himself.
He knew Riku's family had more money than his own, but he never really knew why the older boy liked buying things for Sora. Sure, they were useful, but he really didn't know how to thank him. "I'll figure it out later, I guess," Sora quietly said to himself and set the clothes on his bed. Riku knew his favorite color was black. Usually people looked at Sora and would figure it was blue, but Sora loved the black for some reason. The boy wasn't even sure why himself.
He looked in the mirror and shook his head around, making his hair more messy, but out of his eyes. He took off his shirt quickly and replaced it with the newer black one that was loose, but still fit his figure perfectly. Sora took the jacket that was lying on his bed.
It was expensive. Sora could tell it was much more expensive than what he usually paid when he went to the store. He was surprised that the jeans Riku got fit his figure perfectly and guessed that Riku got them custom made.(4) He sighed, put the jacket on, and started thinking more and more as he got ready and shoved some of the other piles of clothes back into his closet.
Sora and Kairi usually just hang out and play video games together or watch movies. The most they do is hold hands. They mostly only say their dating so people will get off their backs saying they make such a good couple.
It really pissed Sora off.
He was in love with Riku, not Kairi.
She was his best-friend, nothing more. Sora realized he wasn't attracted to her at all when Kairi tried kissing him goodnight after the first date both their parents pushed them into months and months ago. He turned his face away and told her he couldn't do it. Kairi didn't take it hard at all, thankfully.
If only he would be able to tell Riku the things he told Kairi. He never could find the courage and cursed himself everyday for being such a coward to the one he loves.
Sora looked in the mirror as he clasped on the necklace behind his back. He was amazed at how good he looked in the outfit. Riku seriously put thought into the outfit, and Sora tried thinking of ways to repay Riku for it as he put on his sneakers, and walked out to the deck.
When he opened the door, he saw Riku looking out into the ocean, letting the wind blow through his hair. One word went through his mind and echoed.
Beautiful.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Riku turned around to see Sora all dressed in his black shirt with a white jacket on top that only had sleeves that stopped right after his t-shirt sleeves did. Sora also had a pair of baggy, dark blue jeans that were held up by a belt that had his wallet chain attached to his back pocket. This all was topped off by the shining crown necklace that hung from his neck.(5)
He felt his face get even more red than it was.
"Are you okay?" Sora asked, "You look like you're getting a fever."
"I'm fine," Riku said, shaking off his thoughts. He knew it would look good on Sora but...damn.
"You sure?" Sora put his hand underneath Riku's bangs to get to the forehead, and didn't notice Riku got even more red, "You're not that warm, weird," Sora thought outloud and then gasped dramatically, "Maybe you're getting some kind of new sickness that's deadly!..."
"Sora..."
The brunette continued anyway, "And you're gonna die in three weeks!..."
"Sora!"
"And doctors wont know what to do! Riku! You can't die!" Sora had a face of sadness and shock on his face as he carried on.
"SORA!!" Riku yelled.
"Yes?" Sora replied.
Riku said assuredly, "I'm fine. I promise."
How was it? o.o Leave reviews! Please?
I really want to thank AdventureAddict (friend at school who goes to fanfiction.net) for reading over this for me even though I know she doesn't really know much about KH or video games at all...Poor Addict. Also, she doesn't like shonen-ai that much either. She isn't a homophobe, which I've overly grateful for, but she's not a fan of it like I am. Ah well.
When she read over what I believe was my 5th rewrite of this story, she read to the part where Riku was thinking and she just looked at me and said 'well that was quick'. I laughed. Reason: It's taking her characters in her fanfic more than 10 chapters to admit their undying love for each other... XP
Also, I'd like to thank everybody else who read through it for me. Your support was great.
While I was writing this, I for some reason, kept saying 'desu' as I was typing it at school...x.x'' Don't know why. -type!- -type!- -type!- Desu! Desu! Desu!
Yes, people stared at me...Like I care.
Random notes:
(1) When I was writing this at school which has spell check, it was telling me that cooly was spelled with 2 L's. But it looked really silly on the screen. I checked with multiple people and they said it was one. I was really getting confused...and then a chibi of L from Death Note popped in my head and kept chanting "Ichi-desu!" I thought it was cute as hell.
Buuut later on, I found out that it actually is 2. ._. Damn you spell check.
(2) When I gave this to Addict to read through she put a little comment over it "Ooh. Kairi pulled a funny!" I found it kinda funny.
(3) I wasn't sure if I should of kept this line in there...but it'd make sense I suppose. I could just imagine little Riku being made fun of because of his hair. .. So sad...then he gets pissed and bits their heads off. Yaaay!
(4) After knowing a person for more than 13 years, and being in love with them for I guess about 5, I'd think Riku knows what Sora's looks like and can guess his size.
(5) I just thought of the outfit off the top of my head. I'm not into fashion, I don't really care much for fashion. I just thought it'd look good on him. Baggy in my opinion better. Leather is good and all...if you're a model and over 20. Sora's 16. I'm thinking of what a normal 16 year old would wear.
Anywho...-inhales-
