Except they planned all along to have Sephiroth in the game :\ You can hardly see anything that relates to either one. A hero? Sephiroth's bio said he was once a hero. The black feather? Sephiroth has black feathers. You have to remember that in the KH universe, the FF plot does not exist. You cannot say that because of one game that it happens in this one. Leon and Cloud weren't even in the same game but were shown to have a history.
