E3 is well underway and Square Enix has been dishing up a lot of surprises this year! One of the surprises is the announcement of the release date for Kingdom Hearts -HD 2.5 ReMIX-. While many fans will be upset to hear it's releasing so late, North American fans can look forward to collecting your copy of the game on December 2nd 2014 for $39.99! European fans will be receiving the game on December 5th. A Japanese release date has yet to be determined.

Accompanying the release date announcement is a brand new trailer, highlighting the HD upgraded features present in the PS3 remaster.

Please make sure to watch all the way to the end to view a short teaser for Kingdom Hearts III, narrated by Young Xehanort.

 

KINGDOM HEARTS HD 2.5 ReMIX is an HD remastered compilation of KINGDOM HEARTS II FINAL MIX and KINGDOM HEARTS Birth by Sleep FINAL MIX. Previously exclusive to Japan, both games will be available for the first time across Europe and PAL regionsfor the PlayStation®3 system. HD remastered cinematics from KINGDOM HEARTS Re:coded will also be included in the compilation. The game is a sequel to last year’s KINGDOM HEARTS HD 1.5 ReMIX and will lead into the highly anticipated KINGDOM HEARTS III.

Origins of KINGDOM HEARTS: KINGDOM HEARTS Birth by Sleep FINAL MIX traverses through the origins of KINGDOM HEARTS as players can choose between three Keyblade Masters - Terra, Ventus, or Aqua. Their journeys will link everything back to the beginning. This version of KINGDOM HEARTS Birth by Sleep FINAL MIX marks the first time this game will be released on the PlayStation 3 platform! If you’re new to the series, this is the perfect opportunity to jump in!

New Content:KINGDOM HEARTS II FINAL MIX and KINGDOM HEARTS Birth by Sleep FINAL MIX bring entirely new content with the addition of new cutscenes, mini-games, weapons, and much more!

Finally, proof they've dubbed the final mix scenes too! (though the question remains as to whether Meghan redid Namine's lines as well)

The hell just happened? A little disappointed to have the 2.5 release all the way in December, but I'm just glad to have a release date. The hype train just keeps on going, or maybe...it's just begun.

I instantly thought of KHx when he spoke of the Lost Masters, but that's probably not it.

Yeah, but that doesn't explain the entirety of the conversation.
The voices sound similar in tone to Sora and Riku but my gut's telling me it's young Eraqus and Xehanort. Does anyone recognize the voice actors?

remeber this Before my master, He who created me, disappeared,
He bestowed His six followers with new names, and gave five of them a tome of prophecy.
These five followers, who were to become the Foretellers, read the future written in the tome.
Apparently a passage written on the last page shocked them.

"The war in that place will lead to the defeat and destruction of the Light.
The World will be enveloped in eternal Darkness."​

In order to save the future World, the five Foretellers thought to use the power hidden in the tome of prophecy.

i think kh3 will be at e3 that for sure
