Not "mad" but I am dissapointed. Re:Coded is honestly my second favorite KH game *a collective gasp spills from the fandom* and I actually don't like KH2 nor BbS all that much *the rest of the fandom dies* so I don't have as much to look forward to with this collection. I reckon it'll still be fun to play, especially since KH2's gameplay is supposed to be a vast improvement over the vanilla version but
meh.
I'm truly sorry if I seemed to be making you sound like that.
It's just that many people seem to like to dismiss Re:coded as the most pointless game in the franchise. I hold the belief that every single canonical game is important, so I tend to get worked up at someone conveying the notion that those games don't contribute to the story. People who diss Re:coded, BbS, or CoM as games that shouldn't have been just because they aren't numbered titles get special mention here, those poor lost souls.
But I digress. Hope this clears up the confusion. All good?
It terms of quantity of importance/information I'd say that Re:Coded is about as important as Days. Maybe even more so since Days was more of a character piece and has the issue of being a midquel while Re:Coded, whether people like or not, was the first game to advance the story after a long time.
Although, while I don't like the
attitude of the people who dismiss the side titles because I find that many of them have this self entitledness about them, I can see where they're coming from. After playing Re:Coded, BbS, Days, and CoM, and reading up on 3D (since I don't have a 3DS), and the summary for KH3, I feel that most of these games...aren't strictly necessary. The
information in these games are necessary but I think they're unnecessarily spread out, as in, I don't think we needed all these individual games and perspectives to tell the story. That's because neither the plots nor the characters are as complex as the games want you to believe. Since KH3 is about bringing all these characters together then I think anything we really needed to know we could have learned about along the way as part of the plot. Most of the side titles are there to spell out the backstory for us and despite what Nomura said about wanting the players to figure things out for themselves, he is essentially giving us the answers on a silver platter. imo, the only games that really could have been needed were CoM and 3D (even CoM is questionable). Yeah, yeah, I know, I know, what's done is done, but had things been planned more consisly I really don't think we would've need all of these games. I'm still skeptical that we do.
