System of a down, serj tankian, scars of broadway

nah, they're really well known. at least around here and on the internet. serj got me listening to music and soad got me into more genres. scars didn't really do anything for me, though.

Not a single one of the bands you mentioned are unknown. Most everybody, even the ones who don't know them by band name, knows their songs. But as far as rock goes, they're all pretty common, even if half of those bands are disbanded.

Also, Trapt and The Offspring fall under the same category. Everybody pretty much has heard Headstrong or Echo from Trapt and Self-Esteem or Come Out and Play from The Offspring.

Also, Scars on Broadway is known for anyone who owns Rock Band and downloads songs, as it's the first song on the list.

Anywhere but there.
Joanna Newsom

God, yes. I loved both The Milk-Eyed Mender and Ys. I'm trying to find Have One on Me, though. Difficult, it is.

- Nick Drake
- Captain Beefheart
- Vashti Bunyan
- Smog
- John Cale (Everyone's heard of the Velvet Underground, but I don't know many people who've listened to Cale's solo work. Nico, too, I suppose; although I find her less impressive than Reed or Cale)
- Funkadelic

I listen to Smashing Pumpkins. I think 'Freak', their latest song, is their best out of their new album. but their old stuff is great. its a 90's band.
