There’s one thing about the KH4 trailer that nobody seems to be talking about, and it’s the fact that Sora’s new design makes him look uncannily like Yozora.
What’s that about?

I've got weird suspicions about this myself.
I mean, I know we know that the boy we see in that trailer is supposed to be Sora...but...he doesn't really behave like Sora at all. He's very emotionless and stoic all things considered
I have a similar theory about who Yozora really is:I've got weird suspicions about this myself.
I mean, I know we know that the boy we see in that trailer is supposed to be Sora...but...he doesn't really behave like Sora at all. He's very emotionless and stoic all things considered which is something that really threw me off when I first saw things. I mean, I might be reading too much into it because he is probably all "what the hell is going on" mode but honestly I'm starting to wonder if something has happened to cause Yozora and Sora to be fused together or be two sides of the same person??
Especially with the line about how the heart is in the soul which guides it to its rightful place, followed by: "the choice is yours once more". What 'choice'? My theory is that somehow Sora and Yozora have a similar/shared "soul" and now that Sora has come to this world both him and Yozora have gotten enmeshed with each other. And ultimately I am wondering if the "choice" we have to make is the same as between Sora and Roxas--where we had to essentially choose one of them at the end (until kh3 made that moot anyway)
Just a thought. Might be why Sora looks a lot more like Yozora because Yozora is in there somewhere.
Another thought: possibly could explain why Sora is in such a fancy rich apartment in Aoyama. If Sora is sort of fusing with Yozora now maybe that is actually Yozora's house?? And, since we know Yozora at least was supposed to be a commander of sorts, he probably is someone important enough to have enough money for such a swanky apartment. I don't think the apartment belongs to Strelitzia because why would she ring the doorbell to her own house?
There is a few theories going around that me might of lost his memories during the seven days he was unconscious which could explain why he seemed so off.I've got weird suspicions about this myself.

This is a really cool theory that I like a lot, but my only question would be if Yozora was originally Sora then wouldn't the nameless star have recognized him as being Yozora's original form? Maybe because he was still semi translucent though she wouldn't have?I have a similar theory about who Yozora really is:
I believe that Yozora has had his heart transferred from his original body into this Riku lookalike body that we meet. The nameless star says about (presumably) Yozora, or at least the Riku lookalike body, that "he's been changed beyond recognition--his heart replaced with another's". That seems pretty clear about what that means. It's supported by Yozora saying, "This isn't what I really look like". The original owner of the Riku lookalike had his heart removed and somehow, Yozora's heart ended up inside.
We actually can make a good guess as to what Yozora's original body looked like. In Toy Box, Rex and Hamm recognize Sora as Yozora. This is odd because Sora doesn't look like Yozora. Sora mentions this and Donald agrees, so why? Rex and Hamm have played Verum Rex which is a game about Yozora, so if Rex and Hamm think Sora is Yozora, it stands to reason that they saw Yozora's original body when playing Verum Rex and it looked like Sora.
I think that Yozora's original body not only looked like Sora, but was Sora himself. I called Yozora a "heart" earlier, but that was because of a lack of a better term as I don't quite know exactly what he is based on what I'm about to say. I think that Yozora is the power that Sora lost when Sora briefly fell to darkness in DDD. To explain: Yozora is one of the most difficult boss fights in all of Kingdom hearts and if his skill and strength come from Sora, this difficulty makes sense as, by the end of the Mark of Mastery DDD, Sora would've been a keyblade master if he didn't lose his power. This is admittedly a weak argument, but what's not weak is what I'm about to say next. Yozora has the power of waking. Why do I believe that Yozora has the power of waking? He literally and blatantly shows us he has it when he uses it on Sora. To explain: Young Xehanort describes the power of waking as the ability to traverse hearts to reach worlds. This is consistent with how we see it used by Riku at the end of DDD to wake Sora. If you remember, he dives down onto Sora's station of awakening (a heart) and then is transported into Sora's dream version of destiny islands (a world). What does Yozora do? he points his crossbow at Sora where then Sora's station of awakening (a heart) appears from underneath them, and then Quadratum (a world) renders in around them. It's clear, Yozora has the power of waking.. Lastly, Sora means "sky" and Yozora means "night sky", what would be more appropriate for a character born from Sora when he fell to darkness than "night sky"? It's not very subtle when you think about it.
Just as an aside, you might be asking why they end up in Quadratum if the power of waking takes them into Sora's dream. Sora has never been to Quadratum, so how could it possibly be Sora's dream version of Quadratum? Simple, Sora has been to Quadratum. In Toy Box, Young Xehanort throws Sora into the Verum Rex videogame where he fights a bunch of Gigas in Quadratum. We know that the power of waking took Sora and Yozora into Sora;s dream version of videogame Quadratum because of how it "renders" in rather than just appearing like Sora's station of awakening does.
I think the fact that they never actually address "Sora" as Sora makes me suspicious. Also, the fact that the trailer basically ignored Yozora's existence was very suspicious. There’s one thing about the KH4 trailer that nobody seems to be talking about, and it’s the fact that Sora’s new design makes him look uncannily like Yozora.
What’s that about?
My theory is that Yozora isn't the original owner of that Riku lookalike body. Whoever originally owner is, we haven't met yet and we don't know his name. That original owner is who the nameless star is friends with not Yozora. Yozora didn't transform from Sora to Yozora, Yozora is just the name of the part that Sora lost when Sora fell to darkness in DDD (Who or what named him Yozora, I don't know). So, the Nameless star wouldn't have seen Sora before and therefore would not recognize him. The nameless star said that her friend's "heart was replaced with another's", I believe the "friend" is the original owner and "another" is Yozora. I hope that clears it up. I'll try to explain it better if it's still unclear. Thanks for reading my theory! This is a really cool theory that I like a lot, but my only question would be if Yozora was originally Sora then wouldn't the nameless star have recognized him as being Yozora's original form? True, but he also though Donald and Goofy were Yozora's companions... so he's not great at comparing people.Rex did think that Sora was a Yozora action figure so it makes sense.
To be fair, that was cut from the final release.True, but he also though Donald and Goofy were Yozora's companions... so he's not great at comparing people.
true, however we don't know, if it was for better flow in the scene or if the behind the scenes plans for Yozora had changed and solidified between trailer and game release. To be fair, that was cut from the final release.
I think it was a demo not a trailer, but regardless, I agree, we don't know why they cut it. But we could probably trust that "Magia" and "Aegis" are actually names of characters from Verum Rex and that they are the two we see fight with Yozoratrue, however we don't know, if it was for better flow in the scene or if the behind the scenes plans for Yozora had changed and solidified between trailer and game release.
I do think there might be a possibility that rex was referring to Yozora's original appearance, but how he used the box art as proof kind of makes it a bit less likely.
This could explain the way Sora looks in the trailer, too--perhaps he's been asleep because he's slowly fusing with Yozora into the same person because the universe can't handle two of the same person within one universe and we don't realize that until the end of the prologue or something like that.I think the fact that they never actually address "Sora" as Sora makes me suspicious. Also, the fact that the trailer basically ignored Yozora's existence was very suspicious.
I remember that Yozora said that was not his "true form" in The Final World. The way that "Sora" moved actually seemed more like Yozora - with the chain thing to jump up. We've seen Sora easily jump up those things without a chain. Also, the way that the keyblade was seemingly "channeling" energy versus just using it (with the crown symbol). It could be Yozora copying Sora's powers - as we've seen him do.
I love the idea that it's the alternate universe versions of Sora, Riku and Kairi. The Nameless Star being AU Kairi is a brilliant theory and what you explained really connects it well. This could explain the way Sora looks in the trailer, too--perhaps he's been asleep because he's slowly fusing with Yozora into the same person because the universe can't handle two of the same person within one universe and we don't realize that until the end of the prologue or something like that.
I'm starting to believe that this is an AU version of SRK at this point. Nameless Star is AU Kairi, the heart within Yozora that's not his own is AU Riku, and the person Nameless Star is in love with whose heart was cast out is AU Sora*. After all, Riku had his heart cast out by Ansem SOD in this universe. Perhaps in another universe, Riku is the one who casts out somebody's heart, in this case AU Riku may have cast out AU Sora's heart and taken his body in order to have the power of the Keyblade when AU Sora is revealed to be the true master of it (I'm thinking of whatever the AU version would be of when Sora and Riku fight in Hollow Bastion and the Keyblade leaves Riku and returns to Sora). Or it could be exactly the same, with AU Ansem SOD in AU Riku's body (having cast AU Riku's heart out) merging with AU Sora's body to have his power for the Keyblade. That could explain why AU Kairi is dead, since Ansem SOD planned to get rid of Kairi once her purpose was over in KH1 until Riku stopped him.
* And how fitting that Sora would have been drawn to Kairi's heart somehow when he ended up in the Final World--the only one available where he was being AU Kairi rather than the Kairi from his own universe. Perhaps this is also why, when Sora returns back to the Keyblade Graveyard, Nomura chose Kairi to be the one who returned him. Sort of a book-end going from AU Kairi back to the real Kairi.
EDIT: I'm re-reading Nameless Star's dialogue right now and it sounds a great deal like things an AU Kairi would say. She only exists where she is because she pines for another (Kairi's entire character revolving around Sora this whole series) and she'll wait for him to come find her (her whole story being one of waiting for Sora)... I think most of us just assumed Nameless Star must be whoever Saix was talking to Axel about because she was introduced in the same game that plot was, but maybe the two aren't connected to one another at all. It makes sense that the Fairy Godmother says Nameless Star's heart would "certainly be stolen" if it went back to its universe in that case, because she is a PoH. Perhaps AU Kairi's heart being in the Final World is the only reason Sora could come to save Kairi at the end of MoM (despite being unable to speak), since their hearts are connected with him becoming one with Yozora.
Also, look at this:
Star: So I choose to wait here, where he can find me.
Sora: Good. You have to believe.
Star: Believe? Oh, you mean know in my heart he will return? Without any proof?
Sora: Exactly, BELIEVE. I thought it was all over for me, but a friend of mine looked me in the eye and said, "You don't believe that."
Versus this when he returns:
Kairi: You see? I had no doubts that you'd pull through.
Sora: The light in the darkness. It was you. You're the one who kept me from fading away.
Kairi: All I did was believe that you wouldn't.

I think you might be reading something that's not there as there's no evidence that the nameless star "loves" the person she's talking about.the person Nameless Star is in love with whose heart was cast out is AU Sora
I actually think, the Nameless Star's dialogue sounds more like Xion than KairiI'm re-reading Nameless Star's dialogue right now and it sounds a great deal like things an AU Kairi would say
I think Nomura said during an interview that Sora looks like that because he's in Quadratum and that, in other worlds, He will have a more KH art style again. Donald and Goofy having that KH art style in the trailer was supposed to convey that. This could explain the way Sora looks in the trailer, too--perhaps he's been asleep because he's slowly fusing with Yozora
But If you don't want to read it, the conclusion is that: Yozora is the power that Sora lost in DDD. It would make sense that they would recombine into a single person again if that were the case.I believe that Yozora has had his heart transferred from his original body into this Riku lookalike body that we meet.
