Alright, so despite saying I'd never stoop to asking for help like this, I'm seriously perplexed and unsure how to proceed. Basically, it's laid out like this. Me and her have been friends for a couple years, there's definitely chemistry, and we almost got together right after we first met, but due to circumstances, things never worked out. Now, we're friends, and getting closer than we were, and it seems like I have a shot. Here's the complicated bit, I'm in the hospital right now, (long story) and I'll be here for about two weeks, yesterday I was texting her, and she starts in on how she wants the relationship in the book she's reading. Which was an erotic novel, which she talked me into reading with her (I have kindle, so it was easy to get a copy). My question is, is that a sign that I'm so deep in the friend zone I might as well be gay, or not? There was a lot of flirting and stuff while we read through it, but still, I'm not sure what to think.

So, help guys?

Also, this may be slightly off topic, but I think an relationship should be based on respect, honor, and love and also commitment to each other. This.. erotic book shouldn't be the reason for a relationship. It shouldn't be. :/

It's the 21st century. Erotic literature is not incompatible with a relationship where love, respect, and commitment are present.
